Straight from the GT rulebook:
2-17 Nissan 350 Z (Prep 1 and 2)
2-17.1 3.5 Liter VQ35DE ,13:1 compression,RRZ31-Spec 2 heads, 515/264 In,485/250 Ex. Camshaft ,38 lb crank piton /rod 902 gms.
2-17.2 Tire sizes are 280/640R18 front and 295/660R18 rear
2-17.3 minimum weight prep 1: 2,600
So that would mean the Playboy #35 & #33 have to be at least in the ballpark.
And for GS:
Nissan 350Z
(3.5) 2003 -
2006
3.53:1 19.0 2900
287 HP Track option model allowed. Tire size: 245/40/17 front, 275/40/17 rear. NISMO
Aero package #G2010-RNZ30 allowed. Exhaust headers allowed. Allowed fabricated
front upper control arm with sliding ball joint mount for camber adjustment. Allowed 7 1/2
inch lightweight clutch/flywheel assembly. Allowed Nismo cam kit part #99996-RSKK.
Aftermarket front caliper upgrade as per rules. May use aftermarket ECU.

A gentlemen in my area did a costly but effective project of stripping weight.....from hardware, nuts and bolts... Not only did he replace numerous bolts of all sizes with titanium hardware, but also drilled out the center of the Ti bolts to lose more weight. IIRC, his Z is under 3k lbs. Those of course are not his only lightweight reduction.

I am probably going to do the same thing to my car. It's a lot less expensive to take 300lbs of the car, vs. adding power. It's amazing how well Jose's car handles in the ultra-light configuration.

Our time attack car is stipped, with full cage and it weighs 3,068 w/o driver. We also have the added weight of a TT kit, extra fluids (oil & coolant), and we still have the door panels, all factory glass, dashboard, center console shell, and power steering. We did cut out all of the sheetmetal from the rear strut tower brace and the area where the glove boxes and rear speakers were though and integrated those areas into the cage. Before we did that, we had a Kirk roll bar and all of that sheet metal still in there and it weighed 3,240.
