Default Sway Bar Link

Just added aftermarket adjustable sways yesterday and was checking out the OEM links that are on the car. Not to impressed with them so was wondering what everyone else that tracks their car runs? I hear a lot of guys breaking links so I want an extra set to carry with me.

Yep.

The OEM ones are a weak link on the car - I can't tell you how many I broke...

i just bought a couple extras for the track but want to upgrade... SPL seems to be the logical way to go.

I belive that there is another thread on this somewhere. My adjustable race endlinks from www.tcdesignfab.com are awsome.

I had them the Nismo end links, pretty light on construction and design vs the SPL product which are much more robust, IMO should be pulled from the market; the Nismo product could not even survive what I do in a non track environment. Not a competition grade product at all IMO.

So when you break an endlink, do you sways stop working?

Yes, if they are broken there is zero effectiveness.
I run the SPL end links and highly recommend them.

I flew off the road and jumped a curb at nearly triple digits, they were fine.

+1 on SPL endlinks.

In 2000 years when they dig up old 350Z artifacts, the only thing left intact will be those SPL endlinks. they're strong.

not that I know anything about what I am doing however I have read and talked to many people about this. You do NOT want to preload the sways at all. The proper way to set it up would be let the car down OFF the jacks, adjust the links so there is no tension on the sway bars when attaching them. And thats all I got. gl

If you are not running coilovers, couldn't you use preloading the sway bars to corner weight it?

SPL products are the way to go, no doubt.

Sometimes preloading the sway bar can be a usefull tool, if you are trying to get a bit more out of your sways as far as torsional rigidity. I for one have found that for our track purposes (and street as well if you are running BIG rubber) that there is not a aftermarket set of sway bars made (yet) that are stiff enough (even at full stiff setting) so preloading is an option, depending on which direction you need help with.

Anybody have any stock end-links for sale?

Sounds like I need to carry some spares until I can afford the SPL units....They cost about $300 for both F & R.....
