2008 PAX numbers released.
My brother told me about this today and I found a link on another website.

True - it makes more sense that one class (AM) got worse rather than the rest of us getting faster. Most classes saw relatively small increases (0.00X) whereas some others saw relatively big jumps (0.012) for FS, GS, STS2, STX and (0.011) STS.
FS was out of whack for sure. When my brother and I were practicing for the Subaru Challenge at Brooksville in his STI, (STU class) I had the opportunity to drive a G. The only mods it had were 245 race rubber front and rear. After getting used to my brother's STI and getting to within about 4 tenths of his time, My one and only run in the G beat his (and my) best of 15 runs in his STI. (FS PAX vs STU PAX)
I can't imagine how easy it would have been to destroy the STI's times outright with a couple more runs and/or wider race rubber

After watching F-Stock this year at nationals, I think it was about time. Those Shelby's were FLYIN. Seeing as how STS2 got bumped way up, may be time for me to come back to B-Stock. Mike, I'll be at the December Ft Myers event, possibly with the Z. Hope to see you there!

Hi Jason. If you can come out on Saturday too, you are welcome to try out my car. I'm curious to see if it's as "dialed in" as I think it is. David Lehman drove it at our fun day and said it felt good, but I would like some insight from a fellow Z driver.
Sure thing, would love to feel what a setup Z feels like too. I've run mine now twice and in completely stock form. I suppose I wasn't as rusty as I thought I would be, but not ready to challenge you just yet
I'm actually having to decide what I'm gonna run next season (nationally)...the Z in full B-Stock trim, or buy Darrin's CRX and run that again in STS2 (lord knows the car can win). If I buy the CRX, I have no truck or way to tow it to and from events. If I stick with the Z, I have about 3-4k to put into it to get it to true b-stock spec (tires, wheels, revalve the koni's, fsb, trailer, exhaust). I'm so torn!!!!

I have always wondered about changing the front sway bar for B stock. Aren't all the bars on the market stiffer than stock? And wouldn't that make the car udersteer even worse than stock?
Maybe you could get a bar from a 03-04 Z. I read they are a little softer than the 04.5+ Z's.

You know you wanna drive the Z!
I gotta tell ya, I'd be awesome to watch you run the Z nationally. DO IT!
If there's a National Tour in the South East and you have trouble finding a co-driver....

Mike,
In theory that is correct, however I think the Z's bigger problem is the stock diff. It has a hard time if one wheel gets excessively unloaded. Well, the FSB will increase the overall roll stiffness, and ultimately increase rear traction. Most of the fast guys are faster out of the corner than in, and since the FSB is actually allowed in stock class (front upper control arms aren't), it's a great place to start.
In my limited return to Z's, I found mine only pushed on really really tight corners anyway (like the turnarounds at ft myers). All the transitional stuff it seemed to dance ok since I could negate the push with powering the rear end out. Granted, I'm still on the stock lawyer's alignment so I have yet to really have a basis for comparison. But basically, every (??) RWD guy out there goes to a stiffer front bar to increase rear traction. This is one of those times where real world results outweigh physics theory, methinks.... Tell ya what, if I stay with the Z, I'll let you know
I know that when we went to a stiffer rear bar on the CRX, front end traction improved. YMMV.
Leo, It's a tough call...I may run the Z in Ft Myers just to see. If you are there, I would love to take a lap in your car on the race tires to see how much of these problems still exist. Better yet would be to put your tires on my car for a run, see if the 07's softer rear suspension will show any ugly traits.
Anyway, enough rambling!
