Brake question for track warriors

Honestly, not that helpful. You can buy the paint and put it on any rotor out there. I think it is more of a marketing item. I used them as I got a good deal on them and I was looking for a good two-piece rotor to use with the OEM Brembos. I don't think I would pay full pop for them now. Other cheaper two piece rotors out there. Plus if your tracking the car you'll be going through rotors anyway.

the reason i want to upgrade to a two piece unit is i want the heat dissipation characteristics. i will also be upgrading my pads (at least the front) to a higher temp compound. i really beat them up at buttonwillow and fading out at the bus stop or star mazda isn't fun

I'm another Stoptech BBK kit owner, for my 03 Touring model. 332's for fronts, 328's in the rear, Ferodo 2500 pads, their slotted rotors and braided stainless lines. I average 4 HPDE's per year in the instructor group, so the brakes get pretty hard use. But I also commute to work in that car. I've been real happy with them so far.
I'm not Bubba, but I have practically the same Stoptechs on my JWT TT G35. I use different pads for the street/track, because the track pads (PFC-01 front/Hawk DTC-60 rear) are quite noisy when cold and have a decent amount of dust. My street pads (Axxis Deluxe) are nice and quiet, and low dust.
Pretty easy to change them either the day before, or at the track, and a couple of hard stops at the end of a straight will bed them in quite well.

i have been changing my rotors AND pads each and everytime i go out to the track, and to be quite honest, it's getting tiring. i've decided to just use one set of rotors and re-bed my track pads each time i go out. gotta let the tires warm up for the first couple of laps anyway!
Don't really see a reason to change the rotors; as for the pads, my street pads would die on the track, and I change out my tires to R-comps anyways for the track, so it's not much more work to change the pads. The rotors owuld be a PITA, however.
...because i am a glutton for punishment!
i do it just to extend the life of rotors and for an added bit of insurance.
plus i heard that it wasn't a good idea to use street pads/track pads on the same rotor as it would decrease the performance of the track pad. my plan is to use the carbotech bobcats on the street and use the XP10's on the track on the same rotor. from carbotech's website, you don't need to get it resurfaced if you switch between compounds.

i run the stocker 17's at the track. Brembo GT kit fits but they do not offer a rear set up with calipers. I "think" Stoptech and Wilwood makes a kit also. I am sure there are other set ups as well.

*EDIT i see billy, from your original post that you are running the 13's. i guess i should have specified and asked if 14" rotors would fit.

Ducting for cooling is my next step.
