Default Looking for Crew for 2008 T-2 Z car

Hines Group Motorsports is looking for some crew help for the 2008 racing season. We are an experienced SCCA T-2 race team located out of Arlington, Virginia, have done T-2 for 8 years with one championship, two seconds and a third. Putting the car back together starts this next saturday, 12 Janaury. We had a lot of front end damage fromthe runoffs crash and now have the parts to put it back together. Our car has everything done that we can legally do for the T-2 class and set the fastest qualifying and race lap for a non-turbo car at the runoffs. We also have a few sponsors who help out with parts, tires, oil, wheels, and shocks. We do all the work ourselves except for body work. We only run National races but may run one or two NASA races this year. Our 2008 schedule is:

Virginia International Raceway 11-13 April
Summit Point 17-18 May
Nelson Ledges Double 24-25 May
Beaver Run 14-15 June
Roebling Road Double 4-6 July
Watkins Glen 12-13 July
Lime Rock 1-2 August
Pocono Double 15-17 August

Heartland Park Topeka Runoffs 6-12 October

Jason Henderson and Mark Boudouces (JMark in 350z list) are familar with our car and team, as we race Jason a lot and Mark takes all our pictures and helps at tracks he can get to like VIR and Roebling Road. If you live near Arlington, Virginia and have some 350Z knowledge and would like to crew this year give me a call at 703-471-4774. We can teach you the race side of things if you can furnish some of the mechanical side.

See ya at VIR & Roebling. What has the SCCA done to level the T2 field? From what I can see adding 50 lbs. to the Solstice won't be enough.......

I would say I'm far from a professional mechanic, but I am pretty familiar with the Z and would love the opportunity to help out on the team like that!! I live in Richmond but could help out when available! Let me know!

Thanks for posting the pictures Mark. Those were taken at Roebling Road last July when we set the track record for the 3rd year in a row. We had the new JRZ shocks on the car for that race.

Yeah that is a joke. I doubt that any of them were near minimum weight anyway. There is still talk of turbo inlet restrictors.... But hold your breath that the CRB will get that right.

imho I think to start with they should have gone +100 lbs and back to stock size wheels and 245 tires.

We stripped off the last of the front end damage and need to order two more parts before we really get started on putting it back together. The radiator was pushed back so far that it bend some metal tube that looks like its a smaller water by-pass of some sort. We also found damage to the housing that holds the two fans. We should have those by next saturday and are still looking for a crew guy who would be interested in going to the races.

Bob if you talking about the hose that runs from the thermostate housing down behind the compressor under the crank pulley to the oil cooler back up to the upper coolant tube I have one with about 5k on it (removed for accusump & oil cooler) that you can have.
