Default B-Stock challengers?

So I was looking over the b-stock classified cars on SCCA and was curious, what cars in this class give the Z a hard time. I just went to my first event this weekend and didn't really see anyone else running in BS.

The Rx8 kills us. Its suspension is better for that class.

SCCA says the Solstice is CS and AS in the GXP flavor. I'm really surprised with the RX8 a tough beat. I didn't think they were that fast, but I guess you can carry more speed in the corners if the suspension is better.

Yes , they can adjust camber. We can't.

The RX-8 has a number of things going for it.... Cheap to buy, cheap to setup, factory support with contingency money, and less weight to drag around.

The 350Z has way more tq, but it takes a top notch driver and setup to get it to work, it has come very close to a championship with a 2nd in 2006.

So does the playing field narrow a bit in the prepared class (given decent suspension bits)?

not at all. the 350z was just not made to win a national championship.

I don't agree with that if you are only talking RX-8 VS 350Z... While the 350Z is not allowed in STU the RX-8 has been a rolling roadblock there. In BSP, the RX-8 is very likely the slowest car in the class. The RX-8 so far is only a good stock class car. The 350Z can fix all the stock shortcomings in has in BSP, but there is nothing you can do to fix the lack of power the 8 has in BSP. The bad news is they are both well off the pace of the rally cars.

In a nutshell, if you prep the car right for stock and can drive like a champ, check the past results of Carter Thompson, you can be competitive in BS. If you leave stock and head to BSP you will likely spend a lot more money and be no more competitive.

This only applies to National level competition. At the local level depending on your region, you can win BS/BSP/etc in a Yogo.

All of them or they wouldn't be in B stock.

Ive only autox'd my new Z twice, and both times I won Bstock by a fairly large margin (actually only about .6 off of the winning BSP Z with Rcomps on a 50sec course), and Im still on stock tires! I really wish someone would bring out an RX8, Im curious to witness their 'dominance' myself.

Rather than waiting on someone to come show you, not likely if you only run at local stuff, go to your nearest National Tour or ProSolo. It will be an eyeopener.

All depends on your region, mine is filled with fast Evo's on slicks.

I'm not familiar with the classifications. How would a stock Nismo Z be classified?

Edit: The Nismo hasn't yet been classified. It will likely go into either A Stock or B Stock. Having said that, if you're new, see if your local club has a novice or street tire class you can run in instead.

hey nizmo there are only a few 8s that run bstock in N.O. a black one in BR but I dont see any type of domination. Oh and there is a red one that i seen at delta events but that was a while ago. It really depends on the driver in my opinion.
