^ sweet Scott,
You ever have any rear axle issues with your Titan? what year is your titan? you have the rear 3.36 gears? Im guessing so, based off your wheels...

Make sure you look at doing something prior to passing your 60K power train warranty. *edit - wait, aren't you out of warranty anyway since its past 5yr? shoot???
Every Nissan dealer I called actually have rear 08+ axles in stock, waiting to be installed either under warranty or at stealership prices for those past 60k...

ya, the spider gears on the Titan Dana44 are the weak link........lucky you have an 04 as you can just simply drop in a Truetrac LSD (similar to a quaife to a 350z) and rock on and eliminate ever being stuck on the side of the road with your gears on the ground......

Oh crap guys, I have an 06 Titan LE Offroad and I'm going to be hauling my GTR to Zdayz next year, I'll have to read up on this axle problem.. Jason, how does your truck do on long distance hauls like MPG and such, my truck averages 13.1 city , not sure about highway, never make any real road trips..

I didn't realize they were doing them under warranty. My 04' is out of powertrain like you said because of age, however, it was a certified used vehicle, so it's a 7/84 on the powertrain. Do you know if I have to prove that something is wrong, or is it an official TSB or recall?
From this thread, you can see that the pole is high on the early years...and this is just those that post on this thread, there are tons out there still:

Well, based off the info read, you have to wait for failure before they do anything... Im sure if you get to the point that some describe as whining rear end, or noisy rear diff, you can probably talk your way into replacement prior to failure if you got some good negotiating skills with your dealer??

both of you guys can simply install Easton Truetrac LSD's which only cost about $600 + bearings, etc and you can avoid the issue and gain an LSD rear end??
See, in 2008+ model Titans, the issue is pretty much been remedied (rather than fixed), they went to 35 spline axle and larger capicity diff cover and the number of failures has gone down big time........so much so, that when a 2004 to 2007 owner comes in for a blown diff, the fix/warranty replacement is a OEM 2008 complete rear axle.
I wanted A Titan over other trucks for many reasons........and knowing full well about the diff failures and remedy being good in 08+, i figure I shouldnt have anything really to worry about when I tow only about 5000#........but, me being me, i cant live with it...fug dat...plus, I would want an LSD!!
So i plan on doing the AZ diff company Dana60 swap to 3.54 gears with truetrac LSD and get my towing capacity increased and a bomb proof rear end!

Jay you didn't see my full rig yet. I only break it out when I'm going 3+ hours for a weekend HPDE like TWS or Houston MSR this January.
I'd like to weld on some spare tire attachments (one for trailer spare, one for car spare) just haven't got around to it. But for now I just strap the tires to the deck or if I don't have the camper on the truck I throw them in the bed.
I don't have a picture with the camper "pop'ed up" but there is easily enough room for three 6' adults to sleep. Other then bending over to get in that small door I've got about 6" of head room too (I'm 6'-0"). It's also got a fully functioning bathroom (i.e. crapper, shower, sink), gas range, gas heat, and a 5000btu A/C. The guy before he took out the fridge that works with propane so I need to replace that still.
