Default first time autocrossing with the z

did very well today, at oswego speedway, sport compact and truck bash, there was a speed trap, which was a 400ft. dig and i went through the traps at 65, the winner was a 600 hp rx-7 and he pulled 69, obviously traction problems, but hey gotta put it to the ground right. i ran the slalom and had a run of 25.2 seconds on the course, the winner was a older porsche that was trailered there on slicks just for that type of thing and it won with a 22 second run, i ran right with the best of em and much better than many sti's and evo's and awd cars. it was alot of fun. there were few other z's was anyone there??? oswego speedway, NY

Doesn't sound like any kind of autocross that I've been to.

Glad you had fun, though.

I've heard about this style of event. Some SCCA members in the SE contract out to car event promoters to create and time short features that can support large numbers of attendees trying out their cars. A take off on the NOPI model of events. They say everyone has a lot of fun and the clubs make some money.

yeah it was alot of fun, it was a pretty good car show, quite a few cars turned out, some nasty ones too. There was a eating contest, a tire trow contest, and a bikini contest also along with the speed trap, slalom, and 0-40 and back to 0 which i missed if they did it, i never saw it happen i did leave to eat lunch though in the afternoon for little bit. Look it up from last year on krock.com, then choose the utica one and it was advertised on there sport compact and truck bash, a clip comes up from 07. it was $40.00 to register your car and for you and your passenger to get in, then $1.00 a run on the courses if you wanted to do them. loved every second can't wait for more. i put few vids on youtube, more to come, 350z autocross oswego speedway, there are 3 vids on there as of now from that day.

Mmmm, an autocross course with just slaloms and 20+ second runs? Not quite a typical autocross event IMO.
