Why is the 350Z so quick in the European GT4 series?

Why is the 350Z so quick in the European GT4 series?
The 350Z is very fast and has won several races against very fast cars like the Aston Martin & Mustang. How does it do this when in the US it struggles to be competitive in Koni Challenge etc.? Alex Buncombe has won 4 races and set numerous pole positions etc.

You have to look at the rules, the homologation documents, and the VTS for each vehicle in the class for each racing organization to even begin to understand the competitive differences.

Looks like a lot of items are limited and a lot of equalization is done in GT4:
GT4 class cars are mostly what can be referred to as track day cars, which are factory-built race cars available to the public. However, custom-built cars based on production models can also be built by teams. All cars are test driven by the FIA and then modified so that they all have near identical performance levels. Once a car has been approved by the FIA, it cannot be modified by the teams, eliminating continual development costs for constructors. All cars run on regulated Pirelli tires to further equalize performance.

^ For sure. It is interesting to look at the cars it is up against and see how they have made all the cars equal....I am wondering what our T2 350Z's weight allowed by rule is? I doubt T2 Z's have 385 bhp as well.

Racing overseas is important enough to Nissan to fund it. Nissan helps us with cars and parts, but not funding. We have to build our own motors. The motors in the GT4 series cost $50,000. They can move suspension pickup points to optimize the handling. We have to leave it stock. But the bottom line is the money.
We don't have the $400,000 per year budget it takes to run at the front. I have no doubt the car is capable. It just takes a lot of money.
