Rolex 24/ Fresh from Florida 200
Good luck this year. We are running Southeast Division this year with the T2 car. Billy are you going to crew VIR Double for us?
I have found various low-end NASA race cars from $600 to $1000 rent per event day here in Atlanta. That would be in a Spec Miata, Spec E30, Mustang AI, or a RX8...each has various extra fees for crew, tires, towing, etc. Also all have some u-crash-it deposit deal.
I plan to do a NASA Comp License school in a rent-a-racer some time in 2009...likely is the cheapest thing I can rent! Then do 2 races to get a permanent license in a rent-a-wreck..
Really not a bad deal when you look at it!

Is NASA and SCCA comp. license different?
Yep, if you get one you can simply apply for the other: such as if you have a NASA comp and you want to run SCCA all you need to do is join SCCA and pay the fees for the comp and vice versa.
They do generally put you on a provisional though with either group.
Trying to work out logistics for attending the 24hr event, went last year and had a blast!

Actually, they are. You cannot race SCCA Nationals on a NASA license and visa versa, you need to have a NASA license to race at their version of the Nationals. Each organization will grant you reciprocity/permission to race in their regional series only!
Spoiler************
Bill Auberlen/Matt Bell won the Koni Challenge Fresh From Florida 200 in the No. 96 Turner Motorsports BMW M3. Next was Hugh Plumb/Jack Roush Jr. then Kenny Wilden/Dean Martin both in Ford Mustang FR500Cs.
Tony Buffomante and myself (Billy Johnson) finished 4th in the No. 18 Motorsport Technology Group Porsche 997.
Should air on Speed Channel this coming Saturday.
