Default Laptimes at wsir??

Quick Question for you west coasters.

I am not seeing a lot of lap times for WSIR 2.5 course. I am trying to judge if 1.31/1.29 is a good time?

Thanks for helping out.

No, this is the big track, not the streets:

For a "street" car, or track prepared car, yes, that's a good time. Anything under 1:30 is a great time for a car that is not a tube frame race car.

OK, I am trying to judge how competitive a vehicle is. What are the times for FFR Challenge cars, Panoz GTS, or SFRs?

1:29-1:31 is very fast. The instructor I ran with in 04' in his 911 was a retired racer. He was running 1:34, and it was top 3 for the day. The others were 1:33.8 in a race-prepped Camaro, and the next was 1:34.4 in a worked C5 vette. "Typical" times for your general warrior are high 1:30s low 1:40s. I'm not sure what these guys were driving on 9/2/07, but they were fast (best lap time):

Don Simons 1:20.857 111.310 0
Bob Majorino 1:22.320 109.330 0
Tim Day 1:22.347 109.290 0
Bart Carter 1:22.984 108.450 0
C. Oka 1:23.113 108.290 0
Pete Fowler 1:25.863 104.820 0
Kalvin Chen 1:28.387 101.820 0
Oligo 1:28.775 101.380 0

Another day:
RL 1:28.905 101.230 0
Greg Nester 1:32.415 97.390 0
Terry Free 1:32.624 97.170 0
Chris Rado 1:33.542 96.210 0
240Z Racer 1:34.761 94.980 Datsun 240Z 1971 Race 0

What car? What class?

In the wheel-to-wheel racing world those times are average.

Spec Miata is typically in the 1:36s.
The ITS lap record is 1.31 for John Norris driving his BMW E36.
Typical current SRF lap times are around 1.33 because of the new Goodyears.
Most vintage racing Porsche 911s and Datsun 240Zs are around 1.31s.
SCCA T1 lap times are in the 1.27s, T2 lap times are in the 1.32s.
A Sedan (Mustang/Camaro) are typically in the 1.31s.
NASA FFR cars are in the 1.36s.

It's a SRF with a fairly new motor.

Who's selling it? I still know a bunch of the SRF guys I used to race with out here.

SRFs used to run in the 1:30s when they had the Yokohama tires. SCCA cut a deal with Goodyear and they are now running some left over race tires that have slowed the cars by 3 seconds at WSIR. I think the SRF guys have gotten some of that lost time back but I don't know for sure.
