haha good point. Z06's do not come with removeable tops!!! So it's a riced out C6 with a Z06 badge.

Fact: The track 350 is a great HPDE car for any driver.

Opinion: I think it's a bit too much car for a total 16-year old beginner.

Suggestion: As others have said, I'd start him with an older Miata or RX7.

My Son and Daughter both run HPDE in my 350Z...so I think you will do fine with one.

Question: How tall is your son?

If he is over 6', headroom (w/helmet) become an issue.

 

Interesting point on the height issue. I have heard otehr people say that as well. I am 6'1", and I don't have any headroom issue. I do sit as forward as possible and upright. According to where my arms should be relative to the wheel, I should be sitting a little closer, but then the tops of my legs hit the wheel.

As for the initial question, I think the 350Z is a great track car.
