SCCA proposed moving Z to C Stock
From the February Fastrack - the SCCA is proposing to move the B Stock cars down into C Stock.

The SAC offers the following classing change proposal package for member comment:
- Move models currently in B Stock into C Stock, merging the two classes.
- Move models currently in A Stock into B Stock.
- Move the following models into A Stock:
BMW Z4 M Coupe/Roadster (‘06+)
BMW M3 (‘08+)
Lexus IS-F
Mercedes C63 AMG
Porsche 911 Turbo (‘95-’97)
Porsche 911 (‘98-’04)
Porsche Cayman S (‘05+)
Porsche Boxster S (‘05+)
The SAC would like member input regarding whether to include the following models in this move:
Chevrolet Corvette (‘99-’04)
Lotus Esprit Turbo (‘96-’04)
Mazda RX-7 (‘93-’95)
The SAC is considering the base C5 Corvette and RX-7 as lower-cost entries that could increase participation. The relative age, parts availability, and car availability are of particular concern. Additionally, the SAC is requesting comment on whether to include the Corvette Fixed Roof Coupes (FRC), as they were only produced in 1999 and 2000 with production numbers around 6000.

I saw this in the FasTrack as well.
If they combine BStock and Cstock then I wonder which pax index they'll use. Will we get to use the CStock index? will we keep the BStock index? will they split the difference?

I, for one, think that this proposal hurts a *LOT* more people than it benefits. It makes a "tweener" class for cars that aren't showing up anyway (I wonder why) and aren't as popular, are rare, or are maintenance nightmares.
The PAX index (done by a person independently of SCCA) would go on the faster cars, which is currently C Stock -- which is primarily dominated by a "trunk kit" Miata option.

Would it really matter with the Z? We are already getting destroyed by RX8's in BS. Now if they move us to CS we get killed by the Miata's and MR2s.
I really wish Nissan would make the cars with somewhat adjustable front camber from the factory

From my perspective I wouldn't really mind. There is so little participation in B Stock in my region that I prolly coulda took the cup just by showing up every weekend.
Instead of getting a cheaply won trophy I usually compete in Street Tire just so I have people to run against.

You don't need a lot of static negative camber when you don't have a lot of body roll. It would be nice to have some adjustability, but I don't find the perceived lack of static negative camber to be a problem.
But then again, I spent 10 years doing nothing but perfecting car setups (I couldn't race for real due to an auto accident, but I could -- and did -- do lots of simulations).
