Instructor Question
Hi Stack- I went to the registration site but didn't see an instructor option. Do you have all the people you need for instruction? Let me know, I have 40+ track days and have been to Bluegrass.

Stack, I could REALLY use a somewhat local (no farther then CMP) track day between now and Sept. 1. What I am saying is if you schedule something somewhere else I'd be there to support it.

However... I would recommend Coco Strayer's Hurricane Region PCA event at CMP August 29-30... cutting it close, I know... but that's all I gots at the moment.
Hurricane Region hosts 5th Annual Drivers Ed
Please join us for a fun and safe weekend August 29-30 at Carolina Motorsports Park.
Our events offer quality track time in uncrowded run groups. Our classroom sessions will include interesting multimedia presentations about vehicle balance, weight transfer, and momentum basics. For those first-timers who are interested in participating in a track event without the expense of a helmet, rental helmets which meet PCA requirements are available from the track at the bargain price of only $10 per day. Covered garages are also available for rental directly from the track.
One highlight of the event will be the Bridgestone Americas transporter. Along with answers to participants’ tire questions, the Bridgestone Motorsports team will provide tire support and promotional material for the event. Tires can be pre-ordered for pick up at the event. The drawing for a set of tires is guaranteed to attract considerable interest by all attendees. You might be the winner! The Bridgestone Americas schedule for the 2009 season is available at www.potenza.com.
Hurricane Region Drivers Ed event information and registration forms are available at:
www.trackschedule.com/HurricaneDE.html
This event is open to all licensed drivers over 18, and to all car makes and models which conform to the Technical Inspection requirements. For details, see the Tech Inspection form available at the Web page.
Contact Coco Strayer at coco@trackschedule.com or 919.349.5943 if you have additional questions.

To All Disappointed Z Clubbers
Bluegrass was held up for much of the summer waiting on the Army Corps of Engineers to give them additional permits for changes they had to make on the track property. Now they have the permits and the bank holding their loan funds has released them. But it's a long build up. My best guess is the track will open this year, possibly August definitely September. If anyone is really interested in driving this track there's an October 16, 17, 18 event scheduled with the Mid-Ohio region Porsche Club. I've run in their first 2 events this year with some buddies-none of us owns a Porsche- and they're a good bunch of guys. No snotty attitudes like you might expect from guys that have big dollar cars. Typically their 3 day events go for $350 with open track for advanced drivers all day Friday. So if you have a few track days under your belt you'd qualify for driving on Friday. We were at Putnam Park this past weekend and had 2 1/2 hours on Friday with four half-hour sessions on each weekend day. Then you'd be ready for Stack's event in 2010!
