Default *found!* Former Track Junkie looking for New Fun/Track Car

***I found one!***

Alright, this is kind of a double post. *I've already posted in the Wanted section but as always, this section here gets better exposure and the right type of attention for my needs.

Long story short, I haven't set a tire on a race track in over a year. *Wrecked my Z in Oct of '07, spent 6 months trying to convince my insurance that the car was to be totaled, then had to prove it was a Track, not an Enthusiast (45k$ total claim 'cause they "fixed" the car and then totaled it...). *I then got a '08 STi that I had for 5 months before Subaru bought it back under Lemon Law (stupid engine grenaded itself twice...). *That was a good thing because AWD is soooooo *booooring! *Then I got an XTerra as a tow vehicle and future proof (family, house etc...). *

Now it's time to get a fun/track car again.

To the point, I'm on the lookout for a used Z.

The Must Have:

-6MT
-Cruise Control (Enthusiast and above)
-Reasonably Clean
-Clean Title
-No Silver, Grey or White (That’s the hard one!)

The Would Like:

-Limited or no engine mods
-No suspension drop

User BlckTrck has put up a feeler for his '03 Track. *I'm waiting for a reply from him. *But if any of you guys see a Z that could work, please let me know!

Thanks

Fooshe is also trying to sell his car and seems to really want to get rid of it.

You should try contacting him. Good luck man

Does it have to be a Z car?

While they make great track cars, having a dedicated track vehicle that you can afford to replace with cash makes things so much easier.

Just bought a dedicated track Z myself, and couldn't be happier. I applied for track insurance through WSIB, and found they had a $1k minimum policy cost (they advertise that policies cost 3% of the covered value, so I'm overpaying for my ~$10k vehicle). This is not a DD and rarely sees street time (although relatively legal for the street). There are Z deals out there for less than $10k, which makes balling up a 350z not fun, but not so harsh either. If it's just for track, who cares what color it is (IMO).

I'll be driving the car on the road too. So it'll be a dual use one. Which also explain the need for a cruise control. That's the only I can keep my speed in check!

There are plenty of silver and grey ones. I really don't like that color tho. Like, "fly-across-the-country-to-get-an-other-one" don't like...

Budget is around 15k.

15K should get you about anything you wanted in a Z that is an 03-05. its sad to admit, but the prices on our cars drop quickly.

gl with your search.

Find a friend with a "Auto Broker License" and go to the local dealer auction and buy one there...you can usual pay a Broker ~$500 or so to get you into the auction and bid. There should be some decent off-lease/trade-in 350Z available at the auction in most major cities ...

Note:ALL AUCTION SALES ARE "FINAL" AND "AS-IS" WHEN YOU ROLL OFF THE LOT!

"AS-IS" for all cars unless there is remaining factory warranty. But this is OK for a track car based on initial purchase cost savings

Ex g/f had a white 350Z...

New g/f will not tolerate a white Z!

In life, one must chose his fights. Getting a 2 seater while she's thinking of a familly is already an achivement! I'm not pushing my luck! Lol!
