I can't wait. This will be a get event.
By the way, I googled "VIR South Course Video" last night and the first one that popped up was some guy named Stacy King. Video was from 06.

All-season tires and no harnesses make for an interesting time on South Course
I'm DYING to see what kind of times I'm running there now. May have to acquire a data logger or something.

i really like VIR South....definately a drivers course where HP doesn't really count. here is an old video from my Z i took at a members driving day. just a little tip, take turn 4 REALLY late and stay track left, all the way down the hill. Most people that drive SOUTH, don't think time or position can be made up in that turn 4,5,6 part of the track but it really can. at the bottom of the hill the car really loads the front left and that turn is a lot faster then most people ever realize. Turn 4 is somewhat blind so just man up and go for it!!!

The clinic was awesome. The drills that Chuck had us do went way beyond any DE that I have ever attended and actually was more in line with some of the Racing schools.
I really enjoyed the event and I think over all was a success for those who attended

yes, but very mildly (5 PSI). The unit came with the car and gives it a little more pep, roughly 120 WHP. That's kind of offset with the fact I think I have the heaviest NA miata every built . 2480 lbs.

can ya take out the convertible top since you have a hard top on it?
my dad has considered a s/c or turbo for his miata is why i was asking. can you go with a smaller pulley for more boost or will the motor not hold together?

Oh yeah. The engine takes boost pretty darn well for it's size. The orginal 1.6 was from a Turbo car to start with ( the 323 GTX), so it has a lot of things going for it. If you want to see one that is done very well, take a look at Kevin Butlers the next time you go out with the THSCC/TZC group. 225 WHP/ 200 lb/ft WTQ and just over 2000 lbs. There are also 300+ monsters abound out there
I could take the top out and loose about 70-80 lbs, but my wife loves the car and doesn't want me to make it a true track rat. Still has the soft top, stereo, Air, Cruise, Power windows, and everything else.
That's why I am looking at DSRs, FSR's, and FFRC cars.
