Tracking the Z
DAMN! is the only thing I can really say about this car. I have had two mustangs and one of those being a cobra. I started tracking when I had the cobra and going from the 94 GT I thought it was a great handling car. Unfortunately the car (Cobra) had a pretty good amount of over steer which made me lose a lot of confidence in the car, and set slower than expected track times. Yesterday was my first time taking the Z to the track and by the end of the track day I was using mainly 3rd gear and 4th where as in the beginning I was using 2nd and 3rd. Car wasn't under/over steering at all. Power coming out of the corners wasn't an issue and overtaking others in the straight was not a problem. If you guy have a local place where you can track your car I highly recommend it! You learn a lot about how the car runs and feels that you will love it even more and be a more confident driver. The only thing I need to change before the next track event are the pads, I went with street pads instead of track pads. If that doesn't do the complete trick then I will be upgrading the brake system in all. I do have video of the event and I will be posting it up.
BTW: For those that are around the L.A area the track was The streets at Willow. There was a nice amount of Z's out there!

Glad you are pleased.
I did not realize the full potential of the 350Z until going to the track. A professional driver did a couple of laps with me in the passenger's seat. It was an exciting eye opener.

Oh ya! I know the car has a lot more potential then I was able to experience. As time goes on though I plan on tapping into it!
i love posts like this. My first event is in June and I can't wait to see what the car is capable of. This is my first RWD so I'm very easy on it in turns and on ramps b/c I just do not know what to expect. Can't wait for bluegrass on the 6th!
Oh ya you will learn a lot about your car at the track. It will be an absolute blast! Let us know how it all goes!
