this kid is on his 7th lap at the ring... yes, right, 7th... and he does a lap that some people with 100+ lap and gt3 can dream about.

Excellent driving. Is he in motorsports? If not that should be all thats required on his resume, really clean lines.

Edit: That could have gotten ugly @ 4:15

he is not in motorsport because he doesn't have money to be in motorsport (in europe is a little more a "classist" sport than here)

about the "drift" he says he tried to excite the crowd out there after the ring taxi drift (Sabine is just in front of him at the start).

too bad, the guy got talent.

that looks a little scary... to many things to hit and a lot of traffic... no thanks...

big props for the driver. i know that 7 laps is not a lot, but who really doesn't know this track ? I have spent hours in gt5 on this, so every turn if very familiar

you'll need around 300K just to race in a stupid renault clio cup... with a POS TA car... and that at national level that is pretty much like saying state level here...
on something that is less challenging and rewarding that any nasa or scca class here.

As near I can tell, his lap time was a bit over 8 minutes. With significant traffic. He's quick. The fastest production car to lap the 'Ring (A viper ACR) did it in 7:24 so anything in the 8 minute range is astounding.

And pardon my ignorance, but what is the nvm part of nvm mx-5?

wait... the regular lap timing (the one published by the magazines) is the full lap.. that includes the whole straight down there. is estimated as about 25/30 seconds for very fast production cars...

that time is about 8:05 bridge to gantry.. that still is outstanding considering traffic and that a lot ( I mean A LOT) of people driving GT3 and GT2 still cannot match or be close to that.

I have no idea about NVM

Well, if it is an MX-5, even if it is full on race car, it didn't lap in anything close to in the 8 minute range. Even if Michael Schumacher himself was driving. The timer on the video seemed to put it in that area, but it must not have been a full lap. That's what Ataru must have been getting at.

Still, the guy was very good.
