Two "out of town" autocross events, *onboard*
Two weeks ago I co-drive my buddy's AP1 S2000 and we checked out the South Carolina Region. It was a big event, we had 190 drivers that day.
I lucked out with 2nd in A-stock class; the class winner pulled a 1.6 seconds gap on me with a Porsche Cayman running V710. That S2000 we were driving should picks up around 1.5 seconds with a set of Hoosier A6.

Yesterday, I drove my own car and ran street tires again. I'm hooked on R compound, it's like drug; it seems like I can't drive without it. I suck bad yesterday. Managed 3rd place in STX class but I am close to 3 seconds behind the class winner. Only excuse for myself was he is last year STX class participant, and his E36 328is seems to be a very competitive platform. It might beat the WRX when the planets line up...

Buccaneer events are always fun. I used to frequent them a while back. Once I find a job I'm going to try to start getting back over there.
I'm in Dixie so we go to SGMP all the time you should try to get over for one of the events. Our next event is in Moultrie which will be our first time there. www.dixiescca.com

It can be very difficult going from R comps to street tires. You have to brake earlier and get your steering input done earlier. The hardest thing to do coming from R comps to street tires is remembering to do this.
This is why I always tell people to start on street tires first, then go to r comps.
I can't watch the videos at work, what done to the S2K? Front bar? shocks?

yeah, going back from R compound to street tire really test your patient.
That S2k is my friend's car, it has a big front bar and pretty much it. I would love to drive a S2000 CR with decent size A6 on.
