Question Suggestions on Brake Pads for Track/Street Usage

I have a 2008 350Z Nismo and have done 8 AutoX events & 4 track days so far. I am a beginner and have been gradually picking up the pace and am having alot of fun.

It is now time for me to change the pads for my next track day and I wanted some suggestions from the more experienced out there. I would say I use my car about 75% (track) + 25% (street)

Should I go for OEM pads from the dealer

OR

Pick something from a place like Tirerack (link has pads filtered for my car in performance street & Track types)

I have also read some threads where it has been suggested that beginners should use OEM / hybrid pads before getting to track to learn the intricacies of the braking at track.

Following are my most recent track videos at Waterford Hills Raceway in Michigan

This thread is one of the best Brake Pad resouces I know of...

https://my350z.com/forum/autocross-r...-database.html

There is a lot of great information in it to help make the decision.

thanks Howard
Doh! totally missed that sticky thread. How stupid of me.

I am very non-technical so please bear with my questions.
In that thread ...

does the brake system indicate that it was the brake system that the poster used it
OR
does it mean that the brake pads are meant for that brake system?

So for instance THIS post says its Brembo, does it mean it works on Brembo system only?

Also, is there a difference between Brembo brake system on Nismo vs the GT trim?

Thanks

The 350Z's came with 2 different brake calipers (the part of the brake system attached to the wheels). The Standard which runs smaller pads and rotors, and the brembo. If the post says Brembo, then that's the one they tested. The Nismo and the track models have the same system.

It's hard to have the best of both worlds. For autox, you can run your street pads. I run Axxis Ultimates for street and autox. I change pads for track events. If you are on your 5th track day, you are probably about ready to have a dedicated set of track pads.

I only get to do maybe one or two track days a year with my current schedule, but I run the Endless SS-S and think they are great for both.
