Just finished a weekend at Putnam on Goodyear Eagle F1 all seasons
245/40/18 front
265/40/18 rear
They gripped well at first when I was in HPDE1, but I graduated to HPDE2 on Sunday morning and started driving a bit more aggressively when I gained more confidence and learned the track. I don't have any pics, but they look like they were melted by a huge blowtorch or something. They didn't lose a ton of grip, but I think after one more weekend in HPDE 2 or 3 they will be toast.

Yeah, they don't have the "name" that a lot of other tires have, but the "name" isn't worth double the price IMHO.
If your commuting and grocery shopping. 300 treadware is just a touch on the hard side. I'd say they're looking to get mileage over performance here.

RT615s are hard to beat for tire life and price. Ride quality on the road is not as good as the Bridgestones though.

I was reffering to using the RT615s on track, not the street. I run NT01s, but if you don't want to be swapping wheels for track events...

OP said he wanted a "streetable tire"

apharm I tried PMing you but ur inbox is full.

What size wheel/offset are you running for the 275/40's all around?

And to everybody else, do you think 255/40 all around is good enough? Especially in the rear. Or does 275/40's make a huge difference? I have a deal on a set of track rims 18x8.5 all around wrapped with 255/40 RT615's that I might pick up.

615's aren't great at all, i've ran them several times. In the beginning they're okay but once you wear them out, it's like you're driving on ice. Hankook RS2's are better than 615's. The treadwear and traction you guys are referring to is for a measurement in the wet not dry. Toyo R888's, Advan A048's are really good road course tires. Michelin cups aren't bad either but not as good as the toyo's or advans.

For those that are considering the REO50A and the REO50A PP, i have tried them both. I like them both, but I think the PP performs much better at the track.

Will they last as long? Don't know yet. I got 6 HPDEs, 4 autox, and 12K out of the REO50A's. I don't expect the PP's to hold up that long.

Not completely true.
The traction is wet in a straight line only but the treadwear is dry testing.

Sorry for the late reply. Someone else mentioned tires like the Toyo 888. For sure these will be a step up over the RT-615's as the 888's are r-compounds where the Falkens are not. Advantage of the Falkens, if you are like me, is you can drive them to and from the track.

I really liked the RT's in 275 all around. I did run 255 / 275 but in the end 275on all 4 corners worked out better for me. I mounted them on an MB Motorsport wheel in 17X9 +27. It cleared my Stoptech brakes without issue. I'm lowered almost an inch

My F1s did the same thing at MSR in Cresson, TX. The problem fixed itself after a few 1000 miles later. Hot temps, hot track temps, will cause a tire to do that, pretty norm.

so did you get them? how does a 275 on a 9.5 fit with ET20? I'm at ET30 and they don't have a ton of outboard clearance certainly not 10mm (or a ton PERIOD, with ~ -2deg camber up front), rear there's all kinds of room...

I'm actually picking up a set of (4) 18x8.5 +33 Rays track wheels with 255/40's wrapped around. It's a more conservative setup for me right now since I'm just starting out. I figure if I do start getting hardcore, I'll move up to 275's on 9.5's.
