Triangle Z Club and THSCC track event Oct 16-18
Whoops, looks like we forgot to post an update about this. It is a three day (optional) combined event. Qualified drivers with the proper experience can attend Friday's advanced lapping day; and everyone has the option of attending the two-day high performance driver's education event with an optional time trial (for qualified drivers and cars) on Saturday & Sunday.
The lapping sessions are open to advanced and instructor level drivers (intermediate drivers may be allowed to enter with experience on this track, and with approval from a previous instructor.) Friday's lapping schedule will be open lapping sessions each half-hour... so you'll have more lapping fun than you can shake a stick at.
The HPDE will be held Staurday and Sunday. We will again be using a four run group (total) schedule for this event. It went well in June, so we're doing it again for October. Non-Instructors can expect FOUR 25 to 30 minute driving sessions each day with classroom discussions held between sessions.
For those with a competitive side we have the late afternoon time trial. The Time Trial is an additional entry option for drivers meeting certain experience and vehicle requirements. Time Trial entrants get an extra 15 minute time trial only run group each afternoon once the DE rotations are done.
Time Trial vehicles and drivers are required to have:
At least a 4-point competition approved roll bar
5,6, or 7 point competition harnesses, mounted properly, current date (no older than FIA expiration OR no older than 5yr from SFI date of manufacture)
Metal-to-metal mounted fire extinguisher or working fire supression system
AMB transponder
At least two DE events WITH solo sign-off in intermediate (yellow) group or above. Yellow group TT drivers must have instructor approval for time trial
Each time trial group will be generated from lap times sampled from random run groups throughout the day (these times are not published until the TT groups have been established.)
Time Trial sessions will be at least 12 minutes of hot lapping time, in which you must record at least one green-flag lap to be eligble for points. Time Trial sessions are open-passing (with a point).
