Question Nismo wheels set up for Autox!!!

Hello I was wondering what's the wider tire that you can put on the stock wheels that comes with the 350 nismo edition? I was thinking on putting 265-40-18 in the front and 305-30-19 on the rear. The tire of choice will be RE-11
Anyone out there has this set up on their nismo that uses it to autox? Any picture of this setup or a close set up to this? Would the 305 fit the stock wheels. It's not a daily driver car mainly to cruise in it and autox it.

Ed

Im pretty sure that people have ran those sizes already but once you go that wide in the rear, fenders will need to be rolled and camber might have to to be played with for clearance. Check out this link, https://my350z.com/forum/wheels-and-...es-thread.html

Nice cars on that thread but, none of them are nismos models with the stock nismo wheels on. Thanks for the help.

I would look into a 275/35 front and 295 to 305/30 rear, unless your looking at hoosiers.

Cornell- cool stuff there......

terrasmak- Yes I have looked into getting some hoosiers, but getting r-comp tires would mean to get another set of wheels, and if I get another set I would get 18in all away around, that could cost me between $1200 to $1800 just for wheels not including r-comp tires that could be around another $1200 bucks so I'm looking about between $2000 - $2500 for just a race set of wheels and tires. I think the closest to r-comp are the re-11s or if anyone else knows about other kind of tires that is sticker than those let me know. the car only have about 4100 miles on it most of them have been from autoxing going to and from the events.
The last event that I attent to, I start it to notice that stock tires were getting a lil losers from where they were new. I know autox is hard on tires but with a new season up on us I would like to get something new that could last me the whole season.
ok I'll get off my opera now and just concetrate on a new set off tires lol....

could 275 fit the stock front nismo wheels the stock ones are 18x9.5 I belive and the rear ones are 19x10 I don't know the offset but I can look at the wheels and find out if that helps any.... I want to fit the most tire on the rims.

Another reason on getting the re-11 is because I want to stay on BS class. Anyone in here that runs BS with a Z and could give me some tips on setups and things I can do to improve the car handleing without breaking SCCA rules....

I'll stop now.......

Unless you have a Nismo 350z, you can't run the Nismo wheels in BS, actually you are now in CS. But if you do indeed have a nismo then you are fine.

Your best bet is to get a set of koni shocks, larger front sway bar, and a hi-flow air filter ala Perrin or K&N. As for the koni's, koni sports will be fine unless you plan on trying to be competitive beyond the local level. Then I'd get the Koni double adjustable shocks, or have the koni sports converted to double adjustable, and either way you go have then custom valved for autoxing.

For tires, one sec...I just looked through all the street tires. You pretty much screwed for plus sizing. For an autox Z, non-staggered is the way to go. Running the size Re-11 you posted will cause significan understeer as well as give the Z too much rake as the front tires will be shorter then stock while the rear will be same diameter.

Thanks Ruffz, yes I have a 08 350 nismo. On the shocks, you think by changing the s-tune shocks that comes with the car I think there are tokico's to the konis it could be a improvement? I guess it would be since the shocks will be adjustables. Not planning on changing shocks for now, when I do I will be getting coilovers.
On the tires, I'm just trying to be able to have the most tire on the wheel and able to use it also.
Yes I'll be doing mainly local autoxs but when I go to events I want to be competative.
When I autox I'll try to compare my times with people running r-comps tires and normally I'm with in 2 sec of their times. Those guys are preatty fast also I don't know if that's the right thing to do or not but it works for me Yes I know 2 secs difference is a huge in autox.

Thanks for yall inputs, I'm just trying to build a good bs autox car, like some off yall in here have done, and trying to see what have yall done to yall cars and still be in BS.

Thanks

Well looking at what they offer in Re11 , i suggest 265/35 front and 275/30 rear. Or find a different tire. NT05 275/35 front and 275/35-19 rear

Nismo doesn't come with S-Tune shocks. Check with Liam. He was very quick in his car last year.

Glad to see you're looking at RE11s! I ran stock size RE11 (245/40R18 and 265/35R19) on my Grand Touring last year and had great success. I was thinking about upgrading to 265 and 285 this year, but definitely would not recommend anything wider than 285 on a stock Z - it would be overkill, especially on a 10" wide wheel.

FWIW, this was the rear condition after ~18k miles (80% highway) and ~21 autocross events in 2009. The fronts were only marginally better, but I was thoroughly impressed with the wear:

Tokico's no way. Koni's, better, but custom valved would be a must. Then they would be a lot better then the stock shocks. Buying Coilovers will move you to BSP. And for the record, the 350Z is now in CS, no longer in BS.

If only he had shown up to Nat's so we could have really known. Not taking anything away from him, but quick relative to what or who?

Yeah, but I also looked at who he raced against, it was slim pickins. I don't want to get in battle about this, it's easy to say how you think you would have done on the big stage, but steppin up and actually doing it is a different story. Again, nothing against him, locally and divisionally the car can possibly get it done on stock shocks, but at Nat's I guarentee it would be a different story.

We know the 350Z is competitive in BS now CS. The Nismo 350Z platform is that much better as a starting point.
