F -34.5psi, R-33psi HOT, on 245/45R18 all around.
Fully stock suspension on 03 G35 coupe.

Kickass in STX class, dominated in wet race dodging cones

gunluvS14,

Did you go from 225/45 and 245/45 StarSpecs to the 245/45 all around? If so, what's your direct comparison on the feel, grip, responce, balance, etc?

With the amount of autoX's you see, how many miles have you been getting out of the Dunlops? Do you daily drive on these as well or just for events?

And a few off tire questions...
Why STX class if it's fully stock? Or is just the suspension that's stock? (Not to mention the G35 doesn't fit in STX based on SCCA rules)
You orginally from the midwest area? Name is familiar, weren't/aren't you on ClubFR?

Thanks,

Jay

Re-looking at the rules, you are right, I keep thinking of the 350Z and how it doesn't fall into those classes, my bad.

It's all good, the backseat is what allows it vs a 350z. But the 350z gets to play in the new STR so it has an ST class now too.

Yep, after reading the rules and how the G35 has the backseat and the 350z doesn't, that's when I realized the G35 does fit in STX. And I am interested in seeing how the STR class works out, I'm hoping they increase the rim and tire sizes, a 9" rim and 255 tire just seems too small for the output of a stock Z, let alone a fully prep'd STR classed one. We'll just have to wait and see.

For the time being I'll just run in stock class and let the money/mods build up on the side until later. Most likely end up in street prepared by the end of things, but then again I won't be building the car for autoX, it will be built for me and we'll just see what class I run in.
