Default Forged Performance 370Z Race car first track test...impressions

I am happy to report that we've completed our first weekend test of our 370Z Time Attack car. To say the least, we smashed our expectations for it's first track event, even with a fairly important adjustment that still needs to be made to the front shock travel. We ran a 1:19 lap at Roebling Road on the 3rd lap out in the morning on R888 rubber. That car is absolutely insane in the corners, and the braking power is off the charts. I had an idiot's grin on my face for hours after I climbed out of the car. We had the fastest car at this Porsche club event, and there were plenty of heavy hitters. Many GT3's on slicks, 997TT's, etc..etc.

And still with a bone stock engine and intake. Just the test pipes and exhaust...not even a tune!! It's only get to get much faster from here. We have a lot of work still left to do, but it's good to see the car on track, and running fairly strong.

I think Mr. K. would have been thrilled to see you passing all of those Porsches.
Just curious. What kind of speeds were you hitting on the long straight?

'cuz the European guys spent so much on their cars that they can't afford cameras.

Well thats some good news, glad to hear it. I sure like that thing. Good luck this year with both of the cars.

Any times of a similar 350z to compare it too?

How do you steer the thing with that little tiny hub of a wheel?

Sharif, I watched that whole video, Biggest Difference wasn't the car.

"DRIVER MOD"
A well tuned Slicked GT3 and a decent wheel man would have put up a fight, this is a sick setup though. Keep it up and cant wait to see it at ZDAYZ.

No doubt. The cars I was passing are capable of similar or better times, if driven to their limits. It was still fun though...and I really do love Porsches.

true, but even if most of those GT3 are a better package overall, the architecture of an outboard engine is way harder to master than a regular FR or MR car.

that's makes the 911 so "charming".

I actually would have preferred a slightly smaller and thicker wheel. But, alas, I am not the primary driver for this vehicle so I got overruled.
