Anyone going with the Hooked on Driving crew?

It's a bit more expensive than the other NCRC, but NCRC didn't get the greatest dates for Thunderhill. I guess they have some outstanding issues...

Nope. HOD is overpriced, IMO. I'll be running with Speedventures, Trackmasters, NCRC, and UnlimitedLaps if/when they (UL) put an event on the calendar. $285 for a five run group series at T-hill is silly. Do they allow passengers now?

I have been thinking about going to the Thunderhill friends and family event on 1 April. It's $150 and only 4 run groups. I am hoping to get a group together for Buttonwillow on June 5-6 as well.

Agreed it's over priced but need a track fix and have a clearing in the woods with work on Friday.

HOD does allow passengers under certain conditions but I still think they adhere to the no friends rule which sucks.

I'm interested in an April run and at 150... now that's a tasty meatball.

Never was a big fan of Button, but maybe it'll grow on me with the Zed.

Off to look into Speedventures and Trackmaster schedules now...

Still no passengers (friends)? That's the biggest reason I stopped going with them; ride-alongs are so useful, fun, and important! We typically have a bunch of people, my wife included, that go along for the day so they can take rides and enjoy in the fun. It's also good to hop in each other's cars to give pointers. I know that HOD wants their instructors to do those helpful ride-alongs, but that's not quite the same.

We've been having the same fix, but I just couldn't justify the cost combined with their no passengers rule. I told David Ray in his annual survey, but apparently the drive for a dollar is stronger than the passion for having fun. I'm sure it's an insurance thing - maybe when you see them tomorrow you could mention that you have a bunch of Z friends interested, but all have expressed the desire to have a (friend) passenger.

Have fun, and let us know how it goes! You should definitely give BW another chance, it's a fantastic course for a Z. Did you do the full course, or just one of the loops (not nearly as fun)?

I'll make a point to do so.

Yep, the times i've been out it's just been the east and west loops without the hill. It's a nice facility and the full track is probably a better experience.

I'll report back on the HOD experience. Hope to get a go-pro so I can share my putput skills (or lack thereof) with the community.

Full track is absolutely fantastic. Keep that June 5/6 date in mind as you plan forward. Get the GoPro and share some footage!
