Anyone run this spec for the track?

I ran it into the offset calculator and it sticks out 14-17mm past the stock wheels, I see that a lot of people run with the 18mm offset and have to adjust camber and maybe roll the fenders to make it work. I rather go for a near stock set up with a wider wheel so i don't have to worry about it.

What is your opinion?

 

What size tire are you going to go with?

 

+38 is a pretty weak offset for the z, i'm running the fn's in 17x10 +12 all around with 275 40's, im sure you can at least do the +25's without worrying too much about rubbing

so with your +12 offset on a 10" wide you didn't have to adjust your camber or roll your fenders?

The RPF1 17x10 only come in a +18 or +38 offset. And i have heard from many that the +18 = rubbing

 

Well if you lower at all of course you're going to have to adjust camber, and yes I am on rolled fenders, no pull or anything just a roll. Before i was running the 18 in rpf1 9.5 +15 and 10.5+15 so i don't think you'd have a problem running +18 all around if anything you might have less likelyhood of having to roll. I'll have to find some pix, gotta upload em first

 

And nope not at all close to stock ride height, not super slammed or anything but definitely alot lower than stock.

I do plan on lowering the car... Not slammed but just enough to see a little space on top of the tire... I plan to go with buddy club racing spec coils and i guess i could deal with a camber adjustment. Hopefully i wont have to roll fenders as well...

Is that car used on the track? Looks like under load there would be no way to turn the front wheel without significant rubbage.....

I ask because this is the autox/road racing section......and I figure the OP is wanting this combo for the track.

 

Ah not as of yet, I've been wanting to go to willow springs and try the setup out, just haven't had the time yet. Just realized what section it was in saw it from the main page, but if its any difference every now and then I'll drive the canyons and haven't had any problems yet, but I have also rolled the fronts a little bit so that could be the reason i'm not getting any rubbing. I don't doubt that something may eventually rub when I'm on the track, but just figured i'd throw some info out because i would think that +38 would be a bit overconservative?

I just want to know if the 17X10 +38 would really look or perform all that bad, it is still 17mm extended past the stock wheels...

And if the +38 is no good then how much camber will i need for the +18 if i am going to drop the car slightly

 

A lot of the more serious guys run higher offests to run uber wide hoosiers, etc.

I'd go 17's......tires are much cheaper....just my .02.

You need to decide what size tires you want to run first. a 265/275 is not difficult to fit up front. An RPF1 in +38 with a 10mm spacer will do it EASILY with room to spare.
My concern is that a 10" wide rpf1 with +38 offset up front will not clear the knuckle/spindle without a spacer. I have a pic up in the "aggressive wheels & fat tires" thread of my front setup (I'll get more up soon). It's a 18x10 +35 and it rubs on the inside with a 305 Kumho V710. I have a 5mm spacer on and it clears just barely. I'm playing with mere millimeters to make this fit. If you want a seriously large tire up front you will need to mess around with spacer sizes to make them fit. I ran 245/45's up front and 275/40s out back, only used the 245/45's for a short while because i had them lying around, but the sidewall is way too tall for anything serious beyond random street stuff, i've heard good things about245/ 40s though but sadly i got rid of my rpf1's for the square setup i have now
