Attended my first autoX on the 1st. Just wanted to share how much fun it was. If there is anyone reading this and on the fence about it, just do it, you wont regret it.

It rained like crazy which was a bummer but at the same time it let me play with the car a little more. As the day progressed it dried out for a decent run. It was an autocross school put on by my local club (autosports northwest). The guys were great who put it on and so were the other drivers.

My instructor put down a 53.7 second run in my car. I followed with a 54.04 right after. I'm sure he could have cut a few seconds off if given the chance. Never the less it felt good, I did not think I would do as good as I did nor did I think the car was so capable. She surprised me. Now, I can only brag because it was my first time I bested a brand new vette, couple of RX-8's, miata's, a few subbie's, LS1 335i,couple mini's and a few others.

I'm debating on whether or not to attend the Evolution driving school on June 5th. Its $225 but the drivers that have attended say its worth it. What do you guys think?

 

I would attend the Evolution Driving School, since improving the driver is the best mod in autocross

 

Driver then tires. That should be the order of your priorities. Just be careful. AutoX is addicting. You'll get sucked in so quick, you won't even know where that small harbor freight trailer attached to the back of your Z came from.
