yes, my solid diff mounts are shown in the pics....I did all the diff mounts just as SPL sells..........mine i just made myself as i have the means to do so....

I refrain from trans and motor and its okay to not do those if you want, the rule of thumb you speak of isn't 350z specific...........the solid diff mounts are praised to swap to solid as yes they are a weak point and are quite forgiving and are the sole culprit to wheel hop...etc....

so yes, solid diff mounts are a great plus for sure......next or preferrably at the same time, you may wanna get whiteline "subframe" bushings for the rear.

I refrain from motor and trans and choose to inspect and replace oem AS the tranny becomes quite stiff, and yes shifts are more responsive and such, but more drive line shock comes from the solid tranny mounts and its "my personnel" opinion and choice to leave some compliance in my tranny versus risk prematurely wearing out a tranny and having to replace one later...

Just FYI, I decided to hitch ring and weld option versus looking for alternate tow hooks as it was easier for me to ship these components to my home and swing buy a welder than it was for me to spend time looking under tons of cars at a "pay to enter" junk yard.

Many options out there of course......this was just mine..

I also think moving the evap canister/or elimination and using the oem rear tow hook points on both sides of the rear would be good if replaced with beefed up steel and hook point.

Could you have used the factory rear tow hook (driver's side rear) for one side? I don't know if there is a good spot on the passenger side to put a similar unit; I assume not.

The evap canister is on the RH side(passenger side)....I mention thinking of that on post #7 in reply to terrasmack, but decided to stick with this plan..

I'm sure you can fabricate a similar looking hook to mount on the passenger side to mimic the drivers side one..the rear false frame is there just like the drivers side...

This works out well for me, as im running a single exhaust and nothing is in the way..its quick and easy to load up now....

no messing with going around tires, going around control arms or anything of that nature..the car stays planted and ill watch to see if I ever break anything...LOL...

Hey Jason,

Just came across this thread. Nice mod! Like you, I slip the straps thru the wheels when strapping down my Z on the trailer. I hate it when the chassis bounces around so I may need to consider your mod. Have not had much time lately to autocross my Z though.

Yeah, my Z has been in hibernation for the last couple of years and she's itching to get out of the garage. Just need to find some time so she can stretch her legs again. SASCA is back at Retama Park so I'm only 10 minutes away! And SPOKES is at SA Raceway which is only 15 minutes away!

Been holding up great......i inspect them often and towing like this keeps the car planted well and no longer messes with the wheels..........i can stop for gas, check the straps and they are all tight as i started on the trip.......

I plan to hack off the unused fwd facing portion of the loop.
I have an event this weekend, if not i would be dropping it off for powder coat, but that will just have to be later.

Where did you end up finding these at?

JasonZ-YA thanks for the inspiration. Im still using the stock muffler so here s what I did.
I reinforced the entire brace. Added the tow loops to the subframe area instead.

Blurvision, I'm actually interested in what you did to your subframe, the spring bucket arm mounting points to be exact.

This mod i feel is a must have for those towing.......the front of the car has the uni-body mounts already. Adding these hook locations lets you crank down on the chassis and avoid having to wrap straps around suspension components that tweak alignment, etc.

its been hands down the most secure set up for towing on the Z...i really recommend guys.
