I found the HANS very easy to get used to since it has the sliding tethers. I usually wait till I'm on grid to tighten my belts so backing up usually isn't a problem. I have a wide angle longacre rear view mirror and that helps in any situation where I have to use reverse.

Agreed, the Hans sliding tethers are a must.

Awesome. It is so nice to have Z33 guys here with a lot more racing experience than myself to get some feedback and learn from. What length LA mirror did you go with? Where I live there is absolutely nothing as far as racing goes. Gateway in STL even closed up which was just insult to injury. My wife and I are going to be relocating to a more hobby, industry, and racing friendly area this year. I cant wait to be closer to a track to call "home".
