Default NASA FL @ PBIR December 2010 Sprint Race Video

Saturday's sprint race of the season finale are in the books and we took the win today in PTA. Only one other car, but we'll take it! Car ran great once I got my comfort level back after spending the last 3 weeks repairing the car from the asshat Honda that hit me in the last race (see my other thread for those details). Anyway, great weather allowed me to drop my best lap here down to a 1:30.9 from a 1:31.4 last time out. Hoping to get down to a 1:29.9 since there is much more in the car. Here is some video from the race. We had a split start so the other half of the field started 15 seconds ahead of us, and they got the pace car, so we had to pace ourselves.

Next season in PTA looks promising, with at least 3 cars per event planning to come out. I have only been the ST/PT series director here 3 months, and looks like its starting to grow already.

Awesome video! I love watching all the in car videos from race events. I can't wait to check out your car next year at the NASA nationals. I will be running TT for the first time next year. I got signed off at the last NASA event up here. I wish we had warmer weather up here so we could do some events this late in the year. It has been snowing the past two days.

Did you ever do TT before you started PT?

Yep, did about 6 months or so of TT before racing. Its a great stepping stone, and I still go "supersize" into TT sometimes for the extra track time. Winter racing in Florida is great, we had highs in the low-mid 70s this weekend. Summers at Sebring can be brutal though, usually mid to high 90s =(

I bet that gets pretty rough. It gets into the 90's here sometimes in the summer, but not too much. It will be pretty hot for the nationals since they are in September, but probably nothing compared to what you deal with in Florida.

Hopefully you can get more cars in PTA next year. I think there are a couple cars in PTA in the GL region. How early does NASA start for next year? We don't have our first event until the 2nd weekend in April and it's at Mid Ohio. I am actually going to get a lot of practice at Mid Ohio before nationals because they have 3 events there before the nationals.

We get right back in to it in January. We take two months off after Sebring in June due the summer heat...the opposite of you guys lol. I am hoping to make it to Nationals next year, and if I do go, I will head up and do the Acura race school at Mid-Ohio to get some seat time on the track. I think the Z can be very competitive on a track like Mid-Ohio.

I am going to start editing the Sunday race video tonight. We won that race as well and it was much more interesting once I started catching traffic.

Love the videos. That looks like a really high speed track. What are you topping out at down the main straight? What does PBIR stand for?

Its Palm Beach International Raceway. The place used to be called Moroso Motorsports Park before it was bought and remodeled. They have drag racing, kart racing, and motorcross as well. Track is kind of boring but it is 15 minutes from the shop so its not terrible. I am hitting about 138-140mph. I throw 6th since I have the 3.9 FD and its needed.
