Default 370z Nismo autocross setup for SS ...ooops BS

Anyone running their Nismo in SCCA Solo 2 SS class? I just picked up a new 2010 Nismo and will likely run the car in stock class.

I m looking for setup recommendations for wheels and tires. What is the best wheel and tire combo that is legal in SS class on the Nismo?

How about ax alignment on these cars what are people doing for toe settings front and rear?

The Nismo is a B-stock car.....not Super Stock. You will need to keep the stock wheels and put A6's/710's on them to be competitive. As far as alignment.....pretty much max out the camber you can get along with caster. Toe is up to you....I like a bit of toe out in the front and neutral or a bit of toe in at the rear.

I really don't know....probably 315/325 since you are 19's. Generally...you will want as large as you can put on there. The B-Stock solstices here in D.C. run 295's on 8" wide wheels.

Thanks. Thats why I'm asking here. What is largest tires front and rear I can run without rubbing etc? I want to keep everything fairly conservative as I dont want to damage fender linings or rub on suspension. Also is 18 inch wheel a consideration as long as I keep stock Nismo widths? Or perhaps 18 wont fit over rotors? I'm a newb so bear with me here as I dont know what works under fenders of the Nismo. I have had my new Nismo for a day. So is the Nismo competitive in B Stock?

Here is a picture of the new Nismo

Here is my current AX car.

Is that an FP or XP boxster?

You need to keep the 19's. I really can't say what will rub, but I would "think" a 315 up front may cause some issues. I could be wrong. Also, you are going to want a big front bar with those hoosiers.

As far as being competitive...BS is dominated by s2k's...particularly the CR's. I don't know what if they ran on the same day, etc, but the closest C-stock 370z was almost a full 3 seconds slower than the winning BS s2k CR at Nationals.

Yes it is an FP Boxster in progress. I have it down to 2000 lbs now but its still powered by a stock 2480cc motor so Im a bit out gunned in the class. However we went to 2010 SD NT and ran against the fast Orange BMW and my co-driver beat them the first day. Ended up 2nd after to days by a couple tenths.

I wonder how much faster a well setup Nismo will be than a stock 370Z?

You can change the wheels if you want, but I believe you have to keep the widths and the offsets need to be +/- 1/4" (I think those are accurate). So you have to keep it 19x9.5 and 19x10.5, but that also means you could run big tires front and rear depending on how much coin you want to shell out for them.

The NISMO 370Z rides on unique 5-spoke Nissan-branded 19-inch RAYS forged aluminum-alloy wheels (19x9.5-inch front, 19x10.5-inch rear) mounted with Yokohama ADVAN Sport Y-rated high-performance tires (P245/40ZR19 front, P285/35ZR19 rear).

Anyone know the weight of the factory 19" 370 Nismo's? I just assumed they were quite light.

Are there two kinds of 370Z NISMO wheels?

Hmm what would be affordable approach to a good set of wheels? Is there somone making similar offset in a 19x10.5 and a 19x9.5 or do I just need to pick up another set of the wheels I have? I have seen 20 lbs quoted for the stock Nismo wheels on my 2010 car.

The only options I see for the 19x9.5 / 19x10.5 set up is the WedSport SA-55M wheel, which will cost you over $2k. Your best bet to keep in the stock class would probably be to either a) buy a set of aftermarket wheels for your everyday running around or b) buy an identical set of NISMO 370 wheels. That car with 265 or 295 front Hoosiers and 315 or 325 rear Hoosiers will be awesome.

I also think the 295/315 combo would work well......Does anyone other than Hotchkis make a front bar for the Z34's?

Wow! 295 fits under the front without rubbing? That would be my preference. Thats a lot of front tire! Thats more tire than my race car!

295 don't seem to be a problem....I think some of the C stock guys have gone bigger on their 370's.

From looking on the 370z autocross thread....seems like a 5mm spacer is needed for some of the larger hoosiers to clear the shock tower.

I have never run stock SCCA classes but I'm assuming spacers are a no no in Stock? So wonder if 265 fits up front with stock wheel offsets? Assuming no issues with 295 in rear?

So no one is running a Nismo at national level? Guess that says something about how competitive the car is in BS
