Default Stick with BSP or go to CS?

I purchased my 03' Z about a year ago. It came with Megan Racing springs, Greddy SE exhaust, and an Injen short ram intake. I've been autocrossing in BSP just because of the springs and intake and have considered pulling these two items and going to CS because the class has more competitors and the ride quality with the springs is pretty rough. I know the springs are a low quality brand. However, the previous owner did include the stock springs so I'm considering switching them out. Obviously I would have to pay to get the springs changed out b/c it's not something I can do at home.

What would you guys do?

I'd argue those springs aren't even helping you anyway.

Are you using hoosiers? Stock wheels? You have a better chance within CS than BSP. However, both are R-comp classes and you will need them to be competitive.

Yea, I've heard they aren't very good springs.

No R-Comps, stock 18s on Nitto NT555s. I plan on buying some Star Specs to keep the Z as a daily and weekend autoxer.

I think the intake and springs are all I would need to change. I'm pretty sure the Greddy SE (essentially a muffler) is okay in stock class.

So for stock class you can run a front aftermarket sway, correct? Maybe a Hotchkis front?

I'd run in STR then....the NT555's are pure, utter garbage. Put on 255's square and go have fun in STR.

I think in our region STR is street touring roadster (<2.8L, S2Ks and Miatas, not the Z). I think you are referring to a street tire only class, right?

350z is STR eligible. Just not a national level contender because of the weight.

If you want to have the most fun convert back to stock and run there. That or go all out and prep for BSP, in between though will just be painful!

If it were me....I would get a set of Koni Yellows, Carter Thompson Front bar, spare set of stock wheels with A6's and go have fun in CS. Not an expensive set-up, but will do fine at a regional level.
