NASA FL @ Homestead Miami Speedway, March 12th-13th, 2011
The second event of the 2011 NASA calendar is the second weekend of March at HMS. For those not familiar with NASA, they put on a great event with everything from HPDE to Time Trials to W2W Racing.
The HPDE program is for everyone, with levels 1-4 depending on your skill level and experience. From there, you can begin Time Trials, racing against the clock in a class of similarly competitive car. Finally, there is W2W racing, which has classes for any car! A NASA competition license is required, though other licenses are accepted such as SCCA, after your credentials are reviewed.
If you have never run your car on the track, or have never run with NASA, it is worth trying it. It is a safe and competitive bunch of drivers who all share the same goal of bringing their car home in the same condition it arrived at the track in.
Event info can be found here: http://drivenasafl.com/speed/content/homestead
For the March event, the fees are as follows:
HPDE 1 (w/ Instructor) - 2 Days - $399
HPDE 2-4 - 2 Days - $399
Time Trials - $399
W2W Racing - $299
There are also 1 day rates available for all run groups.
You can register at: http://www.nasaproracing.com/event/1225
Dont hesitate to ask any questions and check out the region website, www.drivenasafl.com
Thanks,
Joseph Anderson
NASA Florida PT Director

Damn I can't wait for this event, looking for another TTC win.
If I decide to finally pull the trigger on the Hoosiers, I'm shooting for mid/low 1:39s and hopefully take the TTC track record!

255/45/17 Hoosier R6s, should be a big step up from NT01s.
I would be happy w/ a 1.2sec improvement which would get me into the 1:39s (previous best on NT01s was 1.41.1). I think/heard the R6s could be over 2secs faster @ HMS, so theoretically (no rain or too much heat) 1:39s *should* be easy =)

Wow, 1:35s, I can't imagine what that would be like.
Though when I get passed by the drivers running those times (Porsches/Vettes/etc) I can see that a lot of it can simply be made up in the straights....cause they go by me as if I was standing still!
Man I hope the Hoosies are at least 1 sec faster....I know on a autocross course the difference is right around 2secs, but the track is a whole different animal.
So the goal is 1:36s for March?

But you have real potential in shaking up TTC. You are doing great and taking on guys who have been in TT for years! Keep doing work!
