Well, 2 days of testing are in the books after a bunch of off season upgrades. Among the upgrades were the OS Giken LSD, rear wing and front splitter/air dam from Fulcrum Aero, and newly race valved JIC dampers and some very stiff springs. We ran Nittos this weekend since they last longer and it was only practice and pulled out a 1:39.7. My best time here before all this was a 1:40.2 on new Hoosiers in 30 degree weather. I think with Hoosiers in a race environment next month, 1:37s should be in order. I am still relearning my braking points now as the car stops so much faster since the rear brakes are more effective with the weight on the rear and the drag of the wing. You can see how I go into turn 6 and still braking early. I used to shift to 5th there but for some reason I felt holding 4th was faster. I will have to check my Traqmate data.
The car is unbelievably stable in all parts of the track. You can see it in turn 1 and turn 10, where I come off the straightaways before NASCAR turn 1 and 3 and back into the infield. The car is just glued to the ground, its truly something else. If I can tweak things and get the car into the 1:36s here at Homestead Miami, it will be tough to beat in PTA. The real test of it all will be at Sebring for some testing in March. Here are some pics and a little video from today.

Nice work, next sunday i get mine back on the track after a winter of suspension work. Can't wait to do full aero, that will probably be 2012 for me.
My winter changes, 12.4k fronts, 5k rears moton coilovers, both SPL rear arms, full adjustable endlinks and the final one in work right now 3.7 gears.

I am hoping it is enough to stay ahead of Scott McKay in his FFR, he running in PTA next month with me and wants to beat me bad! I dont know why lol, but he said nothing will stop his attack
. Hopefully if I can out qualify him and get a few seconds between us early, I wont have to worry about him trying anything crazy!
Scott, John G, and I will be going head to head in about 2 weeks. It's always fun. He also has a SpecE30, and E0 car now too.
The FFRC's actually may be in PTA or ST2 next year. We will know by April.

As far as FFRC vs PTA/ST2, They ar talking about some small changes in the FFRC specs so we can race in other classes if that event or region doesn't have any other FFRC cars to run. Right now we really don't fit anywhere.
Lookin' good man.
I figured you were going to be adding some aero to the car sooner or later. Glad to hear that it is working out so far. I bet your stoked to get some Ho Ho's on there and try it. I just got done adding aero and coilovers to my car over the winter for this year. I cannot wait to try it out.
I will see a lot of you at Mid Ohio this year it sounds like too. I am going there April 8th-10th. That is our first event this year in the NASA GL region.

Yea I might be able to get up there and rent a race car to see the track before Nats. Worst case, ill try out the iRacing and spend hours on there. Id prefer the first idea though.
Would be practice and fun.
