Third session of the day with Chin at HMS, running on the Grand Am configuration on the high banking. The rumble strips had been repainted in preparation of the Miami Grand Prix next weekend so they were a little "slick". Coming through turn 2, put the outside rear on the rumble strip on the track out and it was game over. Instinct had me turn into the skid, but when that seemed to not help at all, I turned back with the skid to try and make the corner. Thankfully, my friend Sebastian driving the GT3 saw me mowing the grass and got out of the way the best he could. Only damage was two bent Enkei RPF1s, maybe some control arm damage from hitting the inside of the curbing....ill take that over wrecking a $135k+ Porsche anyday!
Ive watched it 100 times now...I think I handled it well, I think the experience from doing this for 5 years played a big role but it was still just alot of luck...went and bought 40 bucks of lottery tickets tonight too!
I am definitely glad you made it through, I am sure a thorough inspection will be in order, at least you won't have the body damage like you did with that CRX. I bet the pucker effect came in, good to see you didn't panic
