What's the purpose of those vents even with the interior trim still in the car? Does it just vent out cabin air?

My understanding is that they are designed to prevent buffering and unpleasent pressure on you ears with the windows open. The vent is designed to only vent into the car...so they naturally will allow air into the cabin if the cabin if it at a lower air pressure than external pressure.

Which appears to be the case at speed

Makes sense to me. I think I'm just going to make aluminum plates to cover them up.

There is one in each corner of the trunk. I have not covered mine yet. See pics...

Slightly off topic, but since I have your attention, what do you all use for a rear spoiler for added downforce? I've only seen one, and I can't recall the brand, that had modeled a wind tunnel condition to make a drag/downforce vs AOA graph, but it was all hand-waving since it wasn't actually installed on the car.

I have an APR GTC-300. I still have an OEM hatch. i know the guys with CF hatches have to add re-inforcement. Just installed my wing this winter. First event is in two weeks. I'm excited to see how she feels.

I just installed an APR GTC-200. I went with that instead of the 300 because I have a CF trunk.
Pics are in this thread

Reserved I am actually subscribed to that thread. I will probably be getting a CF hatch next year and was curious to check out different ways to support the wing. I like the way yours is.

I do not have a cage in my car. I ran out of money from all the other stuff I bought over the winter. Hindsight I should have done cage first. I hear a lot of guys say that if you start running Hoosiers then it would be good to get a cage. What is the average price of a cage for a road racing style? I hear somewhere in the 2-3k range. I was going to go to the "rollcageguy" in Canton since thats only about 2.5 hours from my house.

I'm prepared to take the scorning for not having a cage.
