FYI that helmet is for motorcycles, you want something SA rated not M for track (although some events will let you get away with motorcycle helmets, but best to have the proper gear)
gloves and shoes are always nice to have

Not to thread jack, but I'm in the same boat. Have a cage on the way and I'm gonna need at least a helmet for myself, but I'd love to have one for passenger as well in case someone wants to ride with me while the front section is in.
Are there any brands that you'd recommend? Maybe a reasonable low end brand, a good quality brand, and an exclusive/stupid-priced brand?
It's hard when starting at square one to even know what the price ranges are and if X price is worth it, or is wasted money.
Thanks for any general direction you can send me in to do my own research!

Hoping this will also be helpful for OP -
For the price, I liked:
#1 Simpson Super Voyager Helmet Silver - $299.00
http://www.saferacer.com/simpson-sup...productid=1048
#2 Bell Sport SA2010 Auto Racing Helmet - $279.99

#3 Simpson K-10 SA2010 Racing Helmet - $299.99

Should one of these three be fine?

Sparco racing shoes
http://www.saferacer.com/sparco-race...?productid=747
comes out to $400 for shoes and helmet. Just getting these as a feeler to make sure im going to be sticking with this. I think the gloves i would have to try on in person before purchasing.

I have an HJC AR-10 and an Arai GP-W... HJC's run smaller than a Simpson or a Bell. If your going to get a helmet get a SA2005 or SA2010, don't skimp out on anything that has a MA2005 rating. The SA model's have fire retardant liners and I believe they can take more of a beating but I'm sure someone will chime in.

Not a fair statement when the op had searched previously. In fact, he originally posted up the specific helmet that he was considering, but it was pointed out that it was a M (motorcycle) helmet and not an SA.
My advice....If you live near a shop that sells helmets, go try one on before buying or order from an online store that allows returns.
Each helmet maker sizing and fit is going to be a bit different (e.g. a medium from one company might fit and medium from another company could be too tight).

each helmet company seems to make a version that fits different head types as well as sizes. For me the G-force Pro line seemed to fit me the best. The price didn't hurt either.
besides safe racer I also like ApexPerformance.com
