Last turn and he goes into the marbles instead of backing off? Are you kidding me? Rookie mistake. He was ahead by 4 seconds and no need to go into the weeds on the final turn. Anyway, nice win for Wheldon and what is more fitting than having the National Guard car win it this weekend?

Final turn, and had to (or didn't HAVE to) make a pass on a lapped car. He got out of the groove but didn't slow down enough. It wasn't on purpose.

Making the pass wasn't a rookie mistake... in fact, it was the right thing to do. The mistake was simply going too wide (or maybe the choice between passing on the outside vs. the inside.) And we all can do better at keeping our vision up

Weird things happen in a race car when you decide to do something different. He said he'd made the same move all race long. Had he slowed, chances are the end result would have been the same.

 

Actually, the National Guard car didn't win. That was the car that went into the wall and finished second.

 

There are no right hand turns on that track, boring.
