Default Finally got the Z on track at Buttonwillow (video)

I've been anxious to see how well the Z does on track and finally had a chance at Saturday's Buttonwillow Performance Driving Clinic. I really enjoyed the balance, and the only challenge was a long brake pedal at the end of my run. I've got some Motul fluid in the garage ready to go to help fix that problem.

In any case, here's some GoPro footage of my laps:

Never been there but looks like a fast circuit. No 90 degree turns? No switchbacks ?

Would prefer to hear the Z rather than the jams.

Track specific pads and a good fluid flush with good fluid should solve most of the brake problems on a stock Z

I think the wide-angle lens distorts what the track really looks like. We were running configuration 25A-CCW, which has a different "Off Ramp" turn than the one shown, but you get the idea from the image above.

I would have preferred to hear the Z as well, but all I got was a bunch of wind noise (which you can hear in the background), so I added the music. Next time I'll figure out how to adjust the mic sensitivity.

Counting on it! I'll go with the fluid first and then pads when these are all finished.

I think the point I was trying to make was that you should do the small things first, before even thinking about a big brake kit (if you were even thinking about that) Many people drop big bucks on a BBK when it is not needed.

Did you check out OP's website? I think he's got the track car thing pretty much figured out

Huh, I missed that. My advice was unnecessary, then. My apologies.

No apologies necessary - sound advice for anyone building a track car! Hope our paths will cross at a track one day soon.
