NASA-SE at CMP, Feb 11, who's going?
I've seen that a few folks here attend NASA-SE events. I did my first track day at CMP in Oct. I saw several Z cars there but didn't get a chance to talk to any of the drivers.
I've got an 06 G35 and I'm already signed up for the Winter Melt Down at CMP in Feb. (DE-1). Anyone else going to be there? I'm looking forward to talking to some of the Z guys. My G is burning oil and I'm thinking about selling it and picking up a Z before everything goes south with the G.
For anyone planning on going, the discounted entry fee expires at the end of this month.
Hope to see you there.

Wonder if Laze1 will be there. I know he was there in October. I'd like to be in a Z by then but who knows. If not will just keep feeding oil to the G.
I see that some of you guys are involved in Tar Heel. What are their track events like compared to NASA-SE? October was my first track event but I thought the NASA-SE folks (and CMP) did a great job.

But, if you are doing DE's and money is a factor for you, you will literally get TWICE the track time with many other organizations. Tarheel is a particularly good deal in this regard. The other good "bang for the buck" is Trackdaze IMO.

Like you, I started HPDE with NASA. They are an awesome organization and, if you are at a level where you are racing, that is the way to go.

Yes, because we don't split our days with race programs we offer a lot more track time, plus some of the best instructors out there.

I will most likely miss all the Jan-Mar events this year due to A special project at work that will have me in Falls Church, VA for 3 months. Current plans have me departing ~Jan 15th. And I have not had time to touch the car after the last race Dec 2-4 @ Road Atlanta...so I still need to refresh the car when I return...realistically my 1st race in 2012 will be in the May-June time frame.
N80...if you need advice/parts/etc feel free to hit me up.

Agreed!
I only ran with NASA once while I started the path to W2W racing after about 3 years of HPDE with various groups (Porsche Club, BMW Club, Seat Time, Chin, etc) I never ran with Tar Heel, but understand that they are an outstanding HPDE option...
So when I was ready to race, I went to NASA and ran HPDE 3 and got a check ride for TT the same weekend. Then ran TT for 3 events, then went to Comp School, and have been doing W2W ever since
BTW: I made a mistake by NOT getting more instructions along the way...I think this delayed my progress some, and may have limited my speed potential now. I plan to get some real professional help (not the Mental Health kind) this year to work on my speed. I am reasonably quick for a "regional club racer"...but too slow to be competitive for National levels events
SO GET GOOD INSTRUCTION!

you are right...that was suppose to say Sub 1:34's
The FFR's were running 1:39's last big event there and the test car ran a 1:34 and change for the 5 laps it did. Of course JG was driving it.
At VIR we were running 2:13's and JG did 2:03 in the test car and that was with only 2 sessions in it.
