He was about 1.5 seconds past the start finish line when things started to go wrong, which at 130mph is about 190 fps. That puts him about 300ft. past the start finish which is where the turn 1 bleachers start. If you look at the 27 second mark you can see when he begins countersteering and as the car rotates past 90 degree you can see the first set of bleachers behind him. He hasn't even got to pit out yet on the front straight and was already 90 degree to the track. That would be very early braking for turn 1 which in most cars is a 90 mph corner. My stock 350Z on the OEM Bridgestones went through there at 80 mph in 4th gear.
90MPH IN that corner for most cars??? I was turning 135s (old track....before repaving so around 2 sec slower then) and I was around 75ish after braking. I know the paving widened that turn somewhat..but 90 is a stretch for *MOST CARS*.

I think you underestimate yourself and your speed. I've got data from a 1:35 lap where a friend was driving. He entered turn 1 at 94 mph, mid corner was 89 mph, and corner exit was 98 mph in my mostly stock 2006 with 285/30-18 R6s, Koni Sports, and an OSG Super Lock. That was a NASA TT event. When I raced SRFs we would do a short brake tap and then drive through turn 1. Entry speed was 110 and exit speed was 111 (not much power in those SRFs) on a 1:32 lap time. Turn 1 is a lot faster then most folks think.

Having been a Porsche guy all my life I find that hard to believe they can have rear weight bias? Perhaps 50/50 weight distribution on a full out race car but I dont see these cars having Rear 60/ Front 40 of a 911? Most all the stats I read put these cars at Front 53/ rear 47 with driver in the cockpit. Having driven real Cobra can say its equaly most exillerating and scary thing I have done. I got up to about 110 and car was getting floaty in the rear going in straight line. Of course I didnt have harnesses or even a helmet. LOL! I'm sure modern kit car versions have addressed some of the issues with originals. However even old 911's get a little scary at 130 MPH with no aero or wings.

Combine this with a short wheelbase and you get a car that can bite you quickly. Oh yeah, and aero that sucks.
