2012 World Challenge and the 370Z
Hi guys!
I thought I'd let you all know that there will be more Nissan products to cheer on in 2012. We've progressed far enough to make it pretty much a done deal so I figure I can announce it - I'll be campaigning a Nismo 370Z in World Challenge GTS this year with help from Nissan and Uprev.
I hope to sign additional sponsors soon - we've got some irons in the fire and I hope one pops shortly. I have it on good authority that there will be at least one other 370Z in GTS as well.
First event is St. Pete at the end of March with the Indycars and we've got a lot of work to do to get everything ready. Full schedule is on the WC website. We'll most likely skip the Laguna Seca and Miller events, but should be at all the others so if any of you make it to an event, be sure to find us in that paddock and stop by and say 'hi'!

That's the plan. Here's our prospective schedule:
March 23-25 - Streets of St. Petersburg w/IndyCar
April 13-15 - Streets of Long Beach w/IndyCar
June 1-3 - Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix w/IndyCar
June 22-24 - Mosport International Raceway
August 3-5 Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course w/IndyCar
August 24-26 - Infineon Raceway w/IndyCar
This will be a dedicated WC car. Getting it down to the minimum GTS weight (3050) requires taking a LOT out and it wouldn't be T2 legal. GTS also allows alternate clutch/pp/flywheel, open spring rates, camber arms, etc. so we'd be compromising the GTS setup if we try to keep it T2 legal (or end up massively cheating in T2). As it is, we've gotten no concessions for power in WC so it's going to be an uphill battle with the stock motor.
As long as I don't have to sell the Mustang, we'll keep that in T2 and if time/budget permits, keep using the blue #88 350 for T3. The only thing standing in the way is this pesky "day job" I have so that I can pay my bills...THAT takes up too much time.

Good luck Brian, I hope that they let you make it competitive. Unfortunately the SCCA isn't letting the 370Z be competitive in T2 at this point and with the Mustang you have a chance for a win at Road America.

This should be fun to see. UpRev did a lot of great work on the A.M. Performance cars and more development should be really exciting.
