This is SEPARATE from the minimum post-race weights of the SpecZ (with driver) for each of the 3 engine types. The rules end up being written around the weight of the driver, which is silly in my opinion, and the weights are too high after the update last year - again my opinion. We are building a bunch of low horsepower pigs.

Cheers.

Wouldn't the maximum HP limit of the DE (258) have to be increased? I assume the plenum spacer adds a few HP.
Allowing more HP for the older cars or running a restrictor in the HR cars would allow the weights to be adjusted downward if that's the goal.

Yup, that's Russell's point I believe. Add some easy and cheap HP to the DEs to bump up the HP by 8-10, THEN allow the HRs to be a bit lighter.

I would also support and push for this. Easy bolt on power will not effect price of the build significantly, and leveling weights is a great idea! These cars needs to be faster in my opinion. If someone wants super cheap, they will go race spec E30 or spec Miata. They are going to choose spec Z to spend a little more money to go faster.

I have been pushing to allow more weight reduction from the beginning, cheapest and easiest way to get some more speed, not to mention making the car handle less boaty on the soft springs.

Yes we say allow 10-15 more HP on the DE cars and drop the HR min weight down 75-100 lbs. Both changes are super easy and inexpensive. Again the required KW springs simply aren't up to the task of supporting a car that is nearly 3,500 lbs at the start of a race.

We have deleted ABS on our 07 Nismo and installed a proportioning valve. We will try to put together a write-up and parts list / install kit soon.

So what's the verdict on the wavetrac diff? I heard the heat kills them, or is that rumors? Or is everyone just running the nismo diff

Thank you for the feedback, are the metric T's something you will be selling?

Correct...do not use the WaveTrac...it is a POS under race conditions....

NISMO Diff is the way to go!!!

Note: there is a Version 2 Wavetrac..that is supposed to be better. But I would avoid it as well.

I ran a NISMO for years - LOVED it. When I switched to (V1) Wavetrac, I abhorred it, as the set-up for that diff seemed so different than what I came to love on the NISMO. When it failed on me, Wavetrac rebuilt it at $0 cost to said "V2". I've been on the V2 for 2 years now, and must say I like it more than the NISMO I had. I think it's smoother overall faster than the NISMO - it's certainly quieter! I change the fluid often (same as the NISMO) - every two weekend events or so - and don't have any gripes now on the Wavetrac. If I had to do it all over again - oh wait I am! - I'd build again with a Wavetrac (I did).

I just want to wish our racers and time trialer's a safe and fun weekend at the East and West Championships. I should've been there at Road Atlanta, but couldn't make it. It's nice to see 8 cars this year at East this year. I'll be seeing you guys live on the net. Let's see who can get 1:3x.xx's.

Suspension kits must be purchased from Nissan. They will be stamped/marked in some fashion. Despite the KW part number that was on our shipping, they are not standard as they appear - the spring rates are 800/600 as the kits are assembled specifically for Spec Z. The shock valving was left up to KW to assure they are appropriate to the spring rates so those may not be standard either. Bottom line is - get the kit from Nissan directly.

Pricing I was told is $2599 for the Shocks/Springs. $185 for each swaybar.

That's $2969 total for the entire suspension kit.

Has anyone documented the "markings" on the SpecZ kit so one would know it was sourced through Nissan? I did not see any marks on my kits, but I also didn't really look.
