The 2TH PWR Track Car conversion
plz some respect for him ! hehe
definatly a driver error by trying to escape from that S2000 , he overdriven his corner. not everybody can support well the stress of being tailgated by another car on the track...
personnaly I almost **** my pant last year when that blue corvertte was following me , im sure he was at 1/2inch from my bumper on corner #1 during the braking zone. but then he blew his clutch right after.

You can't find the limit unless you occasionally drive beyond it. I think everyone should slide off in that chicane a couple times. Also T2, and the last corner as well. Safe to slide off and very informative.

Round 2 highlights.
Well I went up to the track a day early since I knew I was leaving a tonne of time out on the track in round 1.
I learned some very important things. Don't angle the splitter up, and increase your tire pressures to the right amount.
I went into practice with the goal of beating Riann's time in his corvette from last year. 56.3 seconds. Last year this was a devestating time in super street.
I did nothing but increase the tire pressure and lower the splitter. The results were insane. What was once an under steering plow machine was now an oversteer killer.
I learned to drive it with this set up with no other changes and ran a 56.18. Mission accomplished.
On Sunday morning I increased the rear wing angle. The car was immediately better. And I beat my goal again, running a 55.6 rather easily. I knew I had a little more in me too. For reference Jim Houghton ran a 55.0 in his integra last year on A6s. And Jim Kutschke ran a 56.3 in his JRP RX7 so I knew I was booking it.
I was ahead of Riann as well all day in his 436 rwhp C5Z06.
Everyone was coming over to check out the little Z that could.
But it was hot. Very hot. I was losing the energy to drive. I also had too offs which damaged my splitter a bit. Unfortunately I didn't know this until I removed my bumper packing up for the day.
I decided to sit out the last 2 qualifying sessions confident in my lead and ability to go faster. In that time Riann came back and beat my time by 0.03 seconds. So the battle was on.
So it was muscle vs grip. I thought I had the better tires, but I also knew the corvette had 120 rwhp in hand and was probably better sorted out than my mongrel track 350Z. It didn't go very well. The track was very slippery in the key area onto the straight and rather than come up with solutions I compounded the problem by making more mistakes. I think my final official time was 1:56.8. 1.2 seconds slower than earlier in the day.
Time attack video. Check out the save! lol
And in another time, another place, this would have been a class record destroying run.
and some pics of the grip mongrel. haha

there are a few awesome ones out there too but this is enough for now

OH man I saw you at CSCS round 1 and 2 and I was like "Dam that is an awesome Z" ... then I started reading this thread right now and I started thinking...this Z looks really familiar! Haha
Awesome car man! I'll say hi if I see you at the next one. A friend of mine competes in the drift series so I'm out there for every CSCS but I plan on getting my own Z on the track next year! For now its a daily driver absolutely not setup for the track lol

Thanks guys!
Some more pictures I like.
Me and the fam getting my 2nd place trophy

Swooping through T1

Rianns Vette beat me today. I don't know the next track very well. But its a very technical track and might be a good chance for me to end up back on top again.

Well Sasha wrote me back and do I feel like a dumbass.... again. I'm too impulsive about stuff I know little about! He points out there is clearly data drop out on the tmp graph. there is no way the new car was out pulled by 6 seconds by the old car. I thought they were tenths! ugh. oh well he has some good ideas. and once again, I look stupid by trying to look at data and be smart.

Well remember all that extra aero will slow you down on the straights....I'm sure if you had the aero of the light blue car you'd out do it on the straights?

It turns out... you are probably right! and I did out perform the light blue car. I just expected the slopes to be different. Which isn't always correct.
