Question Track Day Spares - What do you bring?

I was researching front wheel bearing / hub replacement and read that some people bring an extra one with them to the track (road course). So that got me wondering ....

What else do you bring with you to the track "just in case"? -Especially for two day events where you are not towing your car there.

Zipties and duct tape, all you will ever need!

Usually brake fluid, sometimes a front and rear rotor. Depends if its a couple hours of lapping or a weekend of events.

If I had a trailer I would probably bring more. Generally my wheels and tent take up all the space in the car as it is.

John must go for the beer parties.......LOL. Just kidding John.

We have a 28' long enclosed trailer and we take a lot, and I mean a lot, of stuff. Besides 3 sets of wheels with mounted tires, we also take rotors, pads, 2 or 3 sets of bearing, full case of Red Line Oil, serpintine belt, a duplicatge of any part we ever broke or anyone we know ever broke, differential, transmission, we used to bring spare cams but not anymore, and lots of tools, tools for doing amost anything. At the track if another Z car breaks something they usually come to us for replacement parts. We also bring other stuff involved with racing like wheels studs, lug nuts, wire ties, full box of electrical stuff, boxes of metric nuts and bolts, just lots of stuff. We also take a golf cart with a box on the back to carry tires to the tire guys and us to the grid.

Good call on the serpentine belt. I started bringing one of those along with the slew of other stuff. You would hate for your day to be over because of a stupid $15 belt.

Great list. I also bring an air compressor, brakecleen, water displacer (for stuck lug nuts), and other similar fluids.

I bring studs, but not wheel bearings. How do we know when a bearing/hub fails?

That's all fine and good until you start to run in competition....when you have an hour b/w practice and a timed session.

...and you have to swap from practice to qualifying tires, run to timing and scoring to make sure your transponder is working, check the fluids, make any adjustments needed from practice, put just enough fuel in the car to do 5 laps, pee, get suited up, drink some water, make sure the wife is happy, and get to the front of the grid because 1/3 of the group is a bunch of ******* that just putt around putting in laps...

Great, so this is what I have to look forward to?

At least I'll get to do more like 10 laps!

My friends failed this weekend at the track...it makes a god awful clunking noise, he's gonna start bringing some extras to the track because we had to drive 1 hour to the closest place that carried them.

I've actually had better luck in giving the first wave a 30 second head start then head out. It's a good gap to have a nice flying qualifying lap on the 2nd or third lap when everything is up to temp.
