Default Neck braces

Been wanting a HANS device and came across this on trackHQ. http://www.necksgen.com/necksgenfeatures.html and it sparked some interest. I know there are a few other versions on the market too. I figure a nice safety equipment style of thread needs to happen. Pro/con of what's available,

Appears they have addressed know issue with traditional HANS unit...that looks like a good product and is certified!

At CMP last weekend, all racers had to do a timed emergency exit from the cars in 15 seconds. I failed the 1st time as my HANS got stuck on the roof I think. With a full containment set and a HANS..it is very difficult to get out of the car.

Plus I am old as dirt and 6'1" 190lbs...

When I do annual tech for a car I require the driver to put on all the safety gear and get out of the car in 15 seconds. Most fail miserably and say something like, "Well I haven't ever had to do that, but I'll be quicker if the car is on fire, ha, ha." That's a load of crap.

I practice exiting the car quickly through the window once each race weekend. Often I practice exiting from the driver and passenger window. With practice you won't have problems with a HANS device. If you don't practice, it doesn't matter what safety equipment you have, there's a good chance you'll have problems getting out of the car.

I think it's a great idea to practice the quick exit. Be sure to practice it with your eyes closed or blind folded.

got 6.4 seconds on the last drill I did:
