Default My BSP Track Build / Daily Driver

Ok well I keep seeing these treads and thought I would start one myself. I know it's cliché to come back from a deployment and blow thousands on my car so to stop any of those comments before they start. I have paid off all of my debt, set aside quite a bit in savings, even started a stock portfolio that isn't doing too bad, as well as some money for a daily driver (maybe old school Toyota Land Cruiser) and even a little for a slush fund for well "having fun" when I return. I knew if I was going to come over here again I would make sure I was well set for when I return.

2007 San Marino Blue Base Model 5-Speed 350z

I really need to get better pictures when I return.

As I have been here I have done quite a bit of reading and debating on what exactly I wanted to do and what fit my lifestyle for the time being. I have decided to prep my car to stay within BSP standards so input and thoughts are always greatly appreciated. The last car I built for this was a Ford Probe but after completion decided to part it all out and use the money to buy a better car (Lexus IS300, loved this car till some woman hit me head on and that’s when I went with a Z, it’s hard to own another of the same car after getting screwed the insurance company) since I was headed off to college at the time. I have since completed college with a degree in Architecture, actually right before coming here to Afghanistan, almost perfect timing for a deployment. Cool thing they do these days is give you extra leave for past deployment so I now have 60+ days of leave waiting for me when I return (Excitement). During with time I plan to find a job. (Already have a couple leads, which is nice). Ok well that went on longer than I intended for a back story.

I have been watching the For Sale threads for quite some time know trying to catch some deals to help with the build and this is a list of what I have picked up so far.

Zeal Function X True Coilovers
Cusco Upper Control Arms
Stillen Sway Bars

Things I already had installed:
Quaiffe LSD
4.08 Gears
Akebono BBK on all for corners with two piece rotors up front, ss brake lines, Motul brake Fluid, and I don't really remember the pads I went with.

I won a set of Cipher Auto racing seats of Facebook. (always thought those things were advertising gimmicks, turns out it wasn't, pretty cool)

Waiting on:
Enkei RPF-1s 18x9.5/10.5 in Gunmetal

List of stuff still to buy:
Enkei RPF-1s 18x10.5 Squared (Seems like it might be smart to have a set for dedicated race rubber.
SPL Titanium Tractions Links
SPL Titanium Toe Links
SPL Titanium Camber Links
SPL PRO Front Endlinks <<< Still haven't decided on these??
SPL PRO Rear Endlinks <<< Still haven't decided on these??
Z-Speed Under Shroud
Cipher Auto Seat Sliders
Mooface Center Roll Adjusters <<< Still haven't decided on these??

I have a friend that is going to help me corner balance the car as well. I'm pretty excited about this.

I have around 60 days before I'm back home and get to start on all of this. I was going to swap out the stereo but well let’s face it, what do I want performance or tunes. I also plan to get in on some HDPE events since I will have some free time, and as we all know the driver mod is the best mod.

A lot of the stuff you have listed is not remotely legal for BSP...

Such as:
Cusco Upper Control Arms
4.08 Gears
Z-Speed Under Shroud
SPL Titanium Tractions Links
SPL Titanium Toe Links
SPL Titanium Camber Links
Mooface Center Roll Adjusters

...and you will want square 10.5's at a minimum. I trophied at nationals last year on 10.5" RPF1's on all 4, but they are too small for that level of competition.

Oh...and you must retain the OEM layout...no true coil-overs.

Hmm sounds like I should get back into the SCCA Regs, I sent this same list to a friend of mine that worked the local SOLO events and that was the class he recommended.

Thanks for the heads up.

I would get a copy of the SCCA GCR and then go from thee. Doing mods for mods sake can be fun, but if you want to compete at a high level you build the car to the class and not try to find a class that fits the car.
