First time at SCCA Event
So in two weeks I will be participating in my first SCCA event and had a couple of questions. I am thinking that I fall in the STR class. I have a 2003, auto, it is the performance trim I think. I have leather seats, Cruise control, and the car came with base brakes. I have upgraded the brakes to brembo's and have also added, a nismo cold air intake, exhaust(not full catback), and a plenum spacer and its lowered. Everything else about the car is basically stock.
Also since I am using an auto, I jsut want to make sure my tranny fluid is full, don't want to change, cause I heard people saying not too.

Its the Buccaneer region. I know some people who are involved with that region out of Jax. I have heard from some people and read about issues when changing tranny fluid in autos. Peices can disloge and cause more problems than good. Perhaps just making sure it is topped up is the best solution?
Its cool if I get bumped into another class. It will be my first time so I am looking to just have fun and learn somemore about my car and my driving. And I am not trying to destroy my DD when doing this.

Cool, I think they have a Novice class. I know Dixie does and they are much closer. If you decide to head to SGMP or Moultrie let me know. Hopefully my car will be back together soon.

You need to check out the rule book before changing anything. For instance, your spacer screws you. You may be different than I was, but the first time out, it would be crushing to get your *** handed to you in a class you don't really belong in.
You know for me personally I learn more when I get my ars handed to me. It lets you try different techniques and learn from my mistakes, and on your second run to try and make up some time.
HAHA, thats a good one. I consider myself a good driver, but going out to the track and in this case a national event, its a different animal (I would think?)...
Ride with good, faster drivers and ask them to ride with you when possible. (More time for this at the local events on test0and-tune days)
Yea, my buddy from Jax runs all the time and he has been to a number of national events. I have driven with him before and am going to have him ride with me as much as he can.
