I ended up doing the Spec Z method. WAYYY cheaper and works great. I have a switch wired on my panel and turn it on after a few laps or so and no more fuel issues.

^- Haven't run into this yet, but care to share what you did as a reference in the future?

There is a thread in the Spec Z section on the NASA forums that details what they did. I did the same thing.

I also have fuel starvation issues. Those went from bad to worse after my sc install.

I have the OEM fuel pump laying around. So are you saying that I can use it to transfer the fuel to the main pump on the passenger side? I have a CJM stage 0 fuel return. Should I just add another 6an connector and run a another hose to the sump. Is the OEM pump too efficent to use or should I buy a low pressure pump?

That's basically what I did. I followed the notes in that Spec Z thread post.

Weird ive never had an issue. How low do you guys let your tanks get? ive had mine a bit under 1/4 tank on track without an issue.

It depends on the track. Problems usually begin when I go close to half tank. Long right-handers do the trick. With semi slick tires and pulling over 1.2g in corners my problems begun.

Depends on the track, WSIR turn 2 and 9 get me before I hit 1/2 tank.

Agreed! It doesn't happen to me at Mid Ohio, but definitely does at VIR coming onto the front straight. I know several Z guys that get fuel cut there. Also, chances are less likely if you're on street tires.

It also depends on how long you sustain the lateral G. I've had fuel cut issues with a little over ½ tank as well and I race on RS3s with stock aero.

Sound isn't so great but you can see my head bobbing each time fuel cuts off in the below video. The engine stopped firing after several fuel cuts hence the drastic decrease in speed mid corner then suddenly came back to life toward end of video:

Fixxxercask how did you connect the fuel hose to the secondary pump fuel outlet? Did you just use clamps? I'm a bit worried about using clamps with fuel.

Do you have any pictures of the install? And how did you splice the wiring? Just cut it before the connector and solder new wires. Does it need fuses, relays, a switch maybe?

I talked with Charles from CJM and he said that the pump needs lubrication from the fuel and if it runs dry it will break quickly. Since I still drive my car on the streets a switch would be a good idea.

Last trackday I only manged to do 5-10 laps before starvation. Then I had to change my drift tires since I got fed up. So I need this solved quickly.

I actually wired my 2nd pump to a switch with it's own fuse and everything. I used the same style connector that is on the drivers side. I also was able to acquire the same wire harness that is on the drivers side. I just got it from a wrecked Z and cut it with about 8" of wire from the connector. I ran the fuel line inside the cockpit with a steel braided line. It's not the prettiest thing, but it works. Here are a few pics below. I can get more if you'd like. In the one pic , you can see the line coming up from the passenger side and it runs across to the drivers side. The other pic shows the 6AN fitting mounted on the new OEM pump with a short hose dumping down.

That's great info. I think I got the plumbing figured out. Although I'm not sure that I can fit another 6AN to the basket since my fuel return is already there. I don't feel good about joining them together since it could cause back pressure. I did order new pump assembly so I guess I found out soon enough.

The electrical wiring is new to me. Is this the right way to go?

Where do you put the relay and the added fuse. Can you make it stealth an install them to your OEM fuse box and relay box?

I actually didn't use a relay. My switch panel is fused. I bought one that had 6 usable switches and fuses all built in. I installed it in front of the shifter.

Cant you run the fuel transfer hose inside the tank? The two sides are connected.

I like the idea to keep the fuel lines inside the tank. Maybe I could just use the secondary basket to bring the wiring into the tank and attach the pump at the bottom. Then I could run a line inside tank to the other side and maybe add an AN connector into the side of the main basket. I think the fuel needs to be pumped inside the basket to make any difference.

You could run them inside the tank for sure. That would probably be a safer. I think you would have to drop the tanks though to do that. It's really hard to get in there while they're in the far. I suppose you could do it while its in the car, but it would be tough.
